    Where is the easiest and least intrusive way to wire an electrical connection to a female cigerette style lighter socket in an F40. It looks like you could wire something into the fuse pannel and let it hang on the ledge under that portion of the dash. Just trying to get 12V to a radar detector, GPS etc. without messing up anything. The wiring diagram is quite confusing in that area of the car.

    Appreciate any help.

    Drew, be careful with the F40 fusebox...its fries easily and is a bugger to find and replace (at least, thats the word on the street :)

    Yep, believe that. But someone has to have an easy way to get 12V to a socket. With that said I heed your word about the fuse box, hence the post.

    we wired directly to the battery and ran the wire in the console and fused it. Radio Shack has a dual cigarette lighter receiver we placed at the base of the passenger side console so you can run your valentine and a phone charger.

    Stay away from the fuse box...

    Valentine has a kit that allows you to wire it directly in w no socket

    I just ran my GPS on battery when I had it in my F40
