Going by the cc's it's 2.9, but I have read 3.0 as well....what is it according to Ferrari? I'd assume 2.9 liters?

    Thanks.

I think so, being that it was basically a F40 testbed....

Depends upon what you mean by "F40". The racing versions had a variety of displacements depending upon requirements- all the way up to 3.6 litres.

The engine in 288 GTO Evoluzione #79888 was 2.855 liters. Remember, the car was meant for Group B and the multiplier for turbo cars was 1.4. 2.855 x 1.4 is 3.997. The F40s 2.936 would not have qualified.
