No no, clearly I recall F40s topping the 1 million mark back in the late 80's right after Il Commendatore's death
    does anyone else remember that?
    also in that period one 1962 250 GTO (s/n 3909) sold for more than $ 10 000 000 usd.

No, no crazy levels yet. LOL, I still have a DuPont registry from 90 with an ad for a Testarossa.....$275,000....buy it NOW...before they hit 300! LMAO. Wouldn't want to have been the bag holder on that one. :)

There were a number of times when the F40 was selling for more than 1,000,000. Also I heard that Enzo Ferrari was originally planning a limited production run of 300 or 400? But with the inflation and such demand for the F40 and the fact that people were selling off his greatest production vehicle ever for such unreasonable profit gains, he decided to bump up production levels to throw off the inflation craze, can anyone confirm this? Because that's what I've heard over the years. I could clearly see Enzo getting upset over people being 'chosen' to receive the F40 and then suddenly saying "haha, I can sell it and make 600k".

The F50 was safe guarded against the supply-and-demand scenario by leasing them to their owners for 2 years before they were 'allowed' to purchase the vehicle fully. So by that time, I don't think many F50s were selling at extremely high prices like the Enzo was/is.

I was at a auction in Novi MI when a F40 came across the block, it sold fot 1.2M. People went nuts when the bidding stoped, I got it all on tape some where.
