hey guys, ive just seen this http://www.drive.com.au/used_cars/ferrari//melbourne/detail.aspx?id=2550168&pg=3&pp=17&d=0&nv=1 anybody know anything about the car?
going off the ad it's still OS and sounds flogged for the price but can't comment without pics i guess
This same car was in the age probally a month ago, the name wayne davies rings a bell. Sounds a little pricey perhaps.
while flickin through the age car guide i stumbled across an f40 for sale its a 92 race car, spent over 200 k, wants to sell for 395,000k vin zffgj34b000080771 is this the same one!
Works out to be about $375k Australian, landed all duties paid. That doesn't mean it is a cheap F40 though. It may send you bankrupt trying to put it right.
Well the one in the Syd dealer is going for around $850k? Would it really cost $400k to get it upto good working order? (wait a sec im talking about ferrari parts...)
Just ask yourself "why do they need to advertise this car at the other end of the globe where the market is small, when they have the biggest market on their door?" Answer invariably is because it is a toatal POS that they can't sell after years of trying..... If you want this sort of stuff you really need not go further than Mark Coffey. He has access to stuff that I didn't even know existed!
A member from WA got on a plane and went to see that car I think. Had extensive racing history and apprently looked like it in the flesh...Had nice stuff like sequnetial gearbox etc, except it happened to be in a cardboard box beside the car and panels were held on with an odd assortment of screws, bolts etc. Didn't inspire confidence...
that 400 buys a new gallardo, and its road legal and registered with warranty and the smell of a new car, so buy the F40 to look at and a gallardo to drive
I haven't really kept up with them as I am really only interested in the race F40's. There would have to be at least a dozen all up, probably more in fact.
Carl will have a list of chassis numbers most likely. I've got list of owners names etc, but prefer not to post. Roughly.... 14 that I know of, including LM variants
