I cannot believe I am typing this... I have someone who is wanting my F40, perhaps more than I do... Forza cover car, featured on Dream Car Garage... Keith Collins mats not a garage queen, not abused either. ideas? oh, and I do not have to sell, but I have had this car almost 5 years, so I have the itch....
I don't know, that is the problem, what do you replace a F40 with? I cannot afford a F50, which is fine, I never really warmed up to a F50. An Enzo would be great, but again, not possible right now. I am thinking a 360 Stradale would be fun till the F430 Stradale came out. I do not know, but it is always fun to try something new!
Chris, You have PM. + PS - my current car is a CS. Interesting choices we face. F50 prices in the US are nutso, we just need few more people to drive them some so they depreciate a bit more. Dan
You are crazy!!! That F40 is in good hands with you and it's a way cooler car than a CS. Please keep the "Super" Ferrari!
We all have our reasons but as you stated that you regretted selling your Daytona... this sentiment may be felt again upon letting your F40 go. Looks like you may have some eager buyers though. What a beautiful car!
IMO cars like the F40 are priceless. Sure they have a market value, but they should be bought or sold depending on how one feels about it from an enjoyment perspective. The F40 in question sounds like a great example of the model, but do you still have the passion for it as when you first got it?
Wow, I can't believe you'd even consider selling. This is weird because I just saw a replay of Dream Car Garage lastnight with your car on it (around 11PM EST). Did you get an offer between the time of lastnight's tv showing and now??? I'd say don't sell it, it looked to be a blast to drive based on the tv show segment.
If I were you I wont sell it. I won't even sell my car an audi A4(wich is really nice btw) I know it doesn't has anything to do with a F40. But it is my first car, and I have putted a lot of time, money and effort on it, it is also my first car, and for money or to get just another car I wont sell it because it means more to me than anything someone else can give me. I guess you see F40 the same way I do to my car, please don't sell it you will regret later, and I'd hate to see that happening. Keep one of the greatest examples of automotive history with you. There's always time to get something else later.
OH-MY-GOD!!! The sky is falling!!! It would be a shame to see you sell your most excellent F40 Chris. I understand the "itch" though too. Obviously your car to do with as you wish, but I think I would honesly just about cry if you were to sell it... just my $.02
Chris, for what it's worth, I pretty much have the pick of any car car out there. I even own a few of these silly money things, but if I were to be in a situation where i could keep only one, it would be the F40, no doubt in my mind.
Well, it is a tough thing to consider, I have loved it more than any car, but... I will have to decide in the next week, I have an offer, just do not know if I want to take it... Thanks guys... Alex, you are the best...
It's way too early for April fools..... Chris, What could you possible get to replace an F40? The fit is sooooo right. Maybe you just need MORE POWER??? Fly out to Orange County and you can take mine for a spin. We are finishing up the dyno work this week. Good luck on whatever you decide to do. I think these cars are only going to go up in value. Do you have to sell it?
Chris, from what I know of you, you are a leader not a follower. Let somebody else enjoy it for awhile and try something new. I personally love the thrill of the hunt and the passion of a new toy. I vote CGT, since F50 is not an option. just my 2 .
Chris, we don't know each other that well, but I can't resist. It is always funny how people love to spend your money isn't it? My advice is to do what makes ya happy. Personally, I'd rather experience a wide variety of cars instead of building a collection. Life is short, and the more things you have the more they start owning you. I'm not knocking those who build collections. I'm just saying that, for me, the urge to try something different always calls. The nice thing about your situation is that there is no way you can lose, is there? Dale PS The CS is one hell of a car.
Chris, IMHO don't sell unless you already know what you plan to replace the F40 with. If there is no other car yo desire more than the F40, that fits the price range currently, I think you'll regret it. Just my opinion... Good luck! Simon Dorton
Just sell it and get the new zo6. As you may not know, The new zo6 is much better, faster, more reliable, nicer build quality, just plain new technology than your old, hard driven, beat up, old F40. Just another note! Thats really a tough situation. I cannot say you would miss it cause I dont know you but you could at least drive a cs in more everyday situations where you wouldnt take an f40. But I dont know, I have seen a lot of cs's not a lot of f40's. Just dont buy a porsche please and I was joking about the z06 ! good luck with whatever you do.
Hey, I tivo'd last weeks dream car garage while I was away for Thanksgiving and it happened to be the episode your car was on.. Absolutely awesome. I loved the sound. You are very fortunate.
