Anyone know why the European version F40 has the small lip spoiler and the USA version has the larger one?

I always thought it was due to safety regulations imposed in the US.

Difference in spoiler is due to compliance and aero issues. Us Spec cars have the thin, rubber bumper right above the chin spoiler (for compliance issue) and such bumper, with its slight protrusion from the front end of the body, changed the air flow which created front-end lift. The solution is to introduce a deeper chin spoiler beneth the thin rubber bumper to make it more aerodynamic....

Amazing, pretty cool. Never even noticed the difference in the slight bumper protrusion.

    Thanks folks.
