A 326 mile F40. How it is still has the MSO is a curious question. Thoughts? How much would it take to get everything 'upgraded' to make sure it was perfectly road worthy again. Sitting around for 15 years can't be a good thing. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferrari-F40-Never-Titled-MSO-326-Miles-Only-One-Rare_W0QQitemZ4612757739QQcategoryZ6212QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Vik, my odo showed 220 miles when I acquired the car a few months back. If prices rise, I suspect more of these ultra low mileage cars will emerge. I've put some miles on mine, so my "buy it now" price would be only $800k.
Will, could you comment on what the dealer said needed to be done (or was done) to make it road worthy. With 300 miles put on in 15 years, isn't there a concern that pipes, gaskets, pumps, etc. may be brittle, due for replacement due to age, or in any event, need to be thoroughly checked?
$950k Buy It Now??!?!? Are they kidding??? There's an F50 with less miles for half that price, sheesh. Why do they think they can ask that much with 3XX miles? It's not as low-miles as it could get. I could see someone hoping to get that price for a TWO mile car, but not that much.
"Will, could you comment on what the dealer said needed to be done (or was done) to make it road worthy." all the fluids of course, filters, hoses, gaskets, belts, injectors, seals, washers, loads of misc other tasks - and, of course, the recall! The work was done by the dealer before I bought the car, so I don't have the retail cost of all the work, but I wouldn't be surprised to find the $20k guess was close. So far, so good, it's running well with no difficulties - I'm up to about 800 miles now, but the snow is going to cramp my "drive it at least once a week" schedule. I love the car ... even tried to get a set of the Euro style seats from the factory ....
"$425,000 or so for the car...the rest for the sellers bad crack habit." I agree. I wonder if the seller just filled in the buy it now box for the heck of it, that price is absurd.
Well it does say that service was just done , Ferrari factory service recently completed at an expense of over $23,000!
you gotta be shiotting me what is wrong with some of these people low miles on a 16 years old cars it might be worth money to people whos going to buy it and have it sit for another 20 years im sorry but thats a waste of a car my friends Parked his TR for a year and a half and all the hoses and rubber were all cracked and harden huge leason he never parked it for more than 3 weeks without starting it up now hahahaha poor turbos they need oil in the seals id buy all the 430s money could buy over a low miles F40 anyday 4.7L V12 DOHC LMAO anyone catch that what a dip shiot lamarossa
nope. a red one out here in so cal. 134950. http://www.exoticcarsite.com/gallery/view_album.php?set_albumName=album307. the meguiars guy, same guy that owns the 250 california spyder that showed up to CC that one time. the time he broght the Enzo to CC i overheard him telling someone "when we left this morning the car had 13 miles on it" "how many now?" "21" so, assuming he took the same route back home and has kept the car there for the past month and a half (which is quite believeable, as he only put 13 miels on it in the year or two that hes probably owned it), then he would have 28 miles on it now. im sure i could think of plent other Enzos whose odos read only 2 digits. from everything else i heard the guy say and from what a buddy of mine told me, the guy seems like a total jerk. no idea how many miles Kalikows has on it.
LOL - AND he's got the seat covers on in the pictures. It's sad to see such garage queens. I can understand somebody being very busy, and therefore a particular car not having extensive miles - especially if that particular collector has a large car collection - but 28 miles in two years is just painful to hear. -
hes never taken the seat covers off, so he might not even know what color they are. bastard. he has an extensive Ferrari collection but I have to believe that he doesnt drive any of them. hes got an Enzo, F40, F50, 250 California spyder, and many older Ferraris, but they all look like garage queens because they sit in a wherehouse with signs on the windshield. Frank and Jay (the weekly CC guys) got a private tour of the garage one day after CC a few months back, ill try to find the thread and post it when i find it
heres the thread that has all the pictures of this particular collection maintained by the guy http://70.85.40.84/~ferrari/forum/showthread.php?t=82584&highlight=crystal+cove+bonus
He has 28 Ferraris as far as I know(may be more in his Florida garage), and he is getting the new 599 GTB. Plus he has Rolls, Astons, a Veyron, and a few other cars. A little short of the 52 weekends of the year, but still one awesome collection!
Lamarossa back from the dead? Its sad to see an F40 with such low mileage just sitting there. If I had one, I would try and drive as much as I possibly could. Those would be good miles.
going easy on a car is one thing, but this is absurd. cars are made to be driven. If not they wouldn't have engines in them. Seeing an F40 in an amazing car collection is impressive, but hearing and seeing that it never leaves the garage is just depressing.
he already has a Veyron, or he has t on order? i dont think theyre being delivered until april/may at the earliest. are most of these cars kept in his NYC skyscraper? exactly. if you want to look at the car, buy a poster or a model
