Single lap time. the lotus would be close, but only because of the drivers. BTW. am I the only one that thought that first attempt at a pass was a truly crappy move? Im assuming this is some sort of lapping event and not a real race. Like I want to take my F40 out to the track so some tool can crash into me!
Yeah the 512's suck. Look how much drag that door adds to the car. Way to go! Here, let me get into your passenger seat and clap like a moron.
No, just stupid. Why not sell the Murci and buy 15 308's? The only car that a Murci should be traded for is an F40.
I wouldnt call that a spanking, more of a 'Ha! I passed a Ferrari pass, now passenger clap your hands like an idiot' pass. Did anyone notice how th F40, when passed for the first time, blazed right by the Lotus. And did anyone notice how the guy in the Morgan looking thing was all over the road, blocking any passes. I just think the F40 got stuck behind that dude.
Guys, you sound so defensive. do yourselves a favor and go test-drive an Elise. It is really a lot of fun. The US version is a little heavy though at 1975 LB. The Euro versions are 200LB lighter and mine is even 400LB lighter.
Since the Lotus nearly Tbones the F40 the first time it is close in a corner, I would have backed off too. This is a good example of why they shouldn't let boneheads in lesser cars on the track with the more expensive cars. Its a matter of taking risks. The F40 is a classic, and not a toy. Cherish it if you are lucky enough to have one. I wouldn't trade an F40 for 10 Elises. : )
Tiff drove the Elise around the track in the last Fifth Gear and it looked really tossable. As for what people would rather own, someone isn't an "idiot" because he would rather drive one car over one that costs a lot more.
As bad as i dont want to admit it...i have to. I have seen lots of cheaper cars beat Ferrari's in racing. I believe it is the driver's fault though..not the car.
