Thanks for the opinion. I guess the good news is that we all have them. Opinions that is.
I'm sure you will choose to fit flat black wheels on your F40. Please post pics so we can all comment.
And as several posters have noted, the wheels are NOT CHROME. They are polished. They don't look like chrome, they don't shine like chrome and they fit the car very nicely in my opinion.

Not my taste...I prefer the stock wheels, but I have to admit, in the daytime shot they do look quite nice.

If he were easily swayed by the discouragement of others, he might not have the car, either. May have an emptier garage, altogether. Thanks for sharing, Alex.

Alex, looks great! You should consider repainting the hubs black, it really sets off the wheels and the rotors. I posted some bf and after pics with these wheels some time ago...could find with a search. BTW, to whomever, you can get HRE's either in polished or chrome finish. Jim

Who said anything about purchasing ? When something is posted on an open forum , pple will comment on it , be it to say they like it or not.
Im sure Alex was aware of that and he most prob dont care if we like it or not. And after all , an F40 is about driving ..It could have spinners , i would still want one.

Tough question, but I've always maintained that if I could keep only one it would be the F40 among the modern cars. The older cars are tougher to choose but it would probably come down to the 410 SA or the 300SL.

Andrew you are spot on! I post to share, not to get a warm and fuzzy feeling because people agree with me.
Those who know me understand that I really don't give a rat's behind about what anyone else thinks regarding my choices.

I enjoy posting on Fchat (and other forums) because I am curious, need info sometimes, have time to kill and like communicating with kindred spirits. Opinions, one way or the other, don't make any difference.

I think the wheels look great, but I have always thought the F40 as evil F-car.Bad guys do wear black. But I still think the HR's are top choice on the F40.

p.s. I have chrome wheels on my work truck.

Alex... one question... what prompted the change in the first place? Most all your other cars remain OE, correct?

looking real good !! Mine are still shinny even after 4 years and plenty miles. I think that yours must be the 3rd HRE set for F40.My Canadian friend has the other one and loves them too.

You are correct. This is the only car I own that I felt could stand a change. The old ones are "correct" for the period and the newer stuff has really nice OEM stuff, like the CS and the 575M, but the F40 wheels looked really dated. I have a set of Hoosier racing slicks on the original wheels so they will still come in handy from time to time.
I have had to invest in some specialized equipment like an impact wrench and really big torque wrench to deal with the wheel changing, but it all counts towards my weekly exercise quota.

Gorgeous! Great choice, and as has been said, definately the perfect wheel for the F40.
