Is anyone interested in an LM nose for their street F40? There is a discount for a buy of more than 3. We are at 2 now. Image Unavailable, Please Login
it is basicly a stock nose (so it fits on a stock car) with fixed headlights (like an LM), A different lower spoiler (like an LM) and a center hood air extractor (like an LM). You do have to remove the front storage piece. Here's a picture of the center air extractor. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well, this is from a mold done from my hood a few years back in Fl. IT WILL NOT WORK on a stock F40. Roland F40LM
I may be interested as well. What is the cost? I don't think that you will be able to open the front bonnet with that spoiler in place as it will hit the ground.
Rick, I'd love one if its a stock replacement and can be sent to the east coast without it breaking into a thousand pieces! PM me with the details. Jon
Thanks for the heads up Roland. After doing a little more home work I don't think this will work as a bolt on as it was presented to me. But it looks like there are a few people that are interested in a direct bolt on piece. So, I will be working on something we can use and will keep the interested party's up to speed. Rick
Rick, if you eliminate the LM lip spoiler and re use the US factory lip spoiler you should be able to make it a "bolt-on" replacement... am I correct?
I think that LM look is way better than the stock and we all agree on that. Here os a p[ic from my front clip. See be yourself the difference. I hope that this will help Roland F40LM Image Unavailable, Please Login
I would also be interested in a version of this, provided it was just a bolt-on. If your supplier can make the necessary modifications to accomplish that, then count me in, too!
I'm interested in a bolt on version. I think the LM front looks extremely menacing, espececially in someone's rear view mirror...
In order to get a bolt on version a ton of changes would nbeed to be made, either to the car or the hood. If you notice first thing, that the radiator is mounted differently. -a
Rick, who is making these pieces? How much are they? I don't care that it's not a bolt on. The Michelotto kit includes wheels, rocker panels (makes the car 2 inches wider), rad, front subframe, lights, wiring etc. The front is widened 2 inches to accomodate the NACA ducts in hood behind the wheel well vents, hence the rocker panels have to be widened. This may be a street version only because it is the stock front width. Did you ever get an LM wing? How is your engine upgrade going? Don't spare the MOTEC !. Also, you were asking about the effectiveness of the stock diffuser. On the street car it is not functional. On the LM, GT, GTE, EVO, the diffuser runs forward to cover the bottom of the engine and block airflow into the engine bay. On the street car, the belly pan is louvered and thus you cannot create much if any suction at the back of the car. The extra ducts on the side of the race cars is to provide cooling air to the engine compartrment and ancillaries. A street car would not do well with a non-vented belly pan, probably overheat.
Thanks for the info. Let's see if I can cover all of this....... We are looking into making a mold for a street F40. I think there are about 6 people that would be interested if the price and quality are right. I don't think we want to have to get into heavy mods on our cars. For me the advantages besides looking cool would be less weight with the fixed headlights, better cooling and more front end downforce. I will keep everyone posted as we progress. I am making a tool from an exsisting LM Tubi wing (no longer available). This should be ready in about 2 weeks. If it fits and works well on my car I will offer it to the board. My engine runs real strong but there is a issue with the stock computors. My car has a late computor which is different than an early car or a Euro car..... The stock F40 has vents under the engine and in the bottom flat surfaces of the bumper. Doesn't the rear diffuser function come from the raised tunnel section of the bumper?
