As some of you may have read the thread about chassis 84326, a non original F40 that raced in the BPR in 96 and which had been rotting in a garage for 8 years and I bought a few months ago. Described by Mike Sheehan as LM/GTE it is one of 27 non original cars converted by privateers.

If it was of interest I was going to post a thread of the work we are doing once I have sufficient images etc and wanted to know if this was the right area of the site to post? I looked at restorations section but that appeared all to be Redline stuff?

Thanks in advance and let me know if it is of interest to follow the restoration or if it is not worth the hassle.

    Tim,

do the last pic forwarded is enough to answer your last question to install the radiator?

If not I can check with the new owner of my ex car to get the necessary pics.

Good luck with your restoration and post some pics on this site!

Well thanks guys to those very few who are interested but it seems that it is not worth the effort. I will post on another UK forum which seems genuinely incredibly keen and post a link here.

    Disappointing

    Really?

That's your response? Perhaps you shouldn't bother. Considering other posts you have made have given you help and answers in the 288/F40/F50/Enzo section, I'd feel insulted if I were one of those who took time to reply and offer input from this very forum.

Sounds to me like you were expecting a P4/5 length thread. Whilst I wish you every success in your adventure, I'd reconsider if I were you, just incase the UK forum can't answer the specific technical question you haven't yet asked.

    Best Regards
    Mike James

That is a fair way to look at it and had not considered it in that light. I was just hoping it might be of more invest but you make a valid point!

Another factor here is that this Forum is all abuzz about the forthcoming F70, with multiple threads carrying speculation about it. It may be very hard to attract much attention to anything else right now.

I found a for sale advert from 2002 yesterday for your car. Forgot to bring the mag home to scan it and post it up.

Will sort it in a day or so

I too would be very interested in this thread, as others have mentioned, get some pics up, it will help illustrate your story and spark interest.

I am sincere in wishing you every success in your adventure, I'm sorry, I can't offer any technical help, but will watch the thread with keen interest, and hopefully we can all learn a thing or two about LM/GTE specification F40's!

    I appreciate your considered response.

    Best regards
    Mike James

I'm certainly interested, but don't kill yourself doing it. Documenting your car should be something you want to do, regardless of Fchatters interest. Our possible pleasure would be just a plus to you having the car's transformation documented for yourself. Either way, please do post a few pics here and there for our viewing pleasure :)

Tim, you should subscribe and make a thread here. It can properly document what you're doing and serve as a central place to ask questions and receive answers and solutions. Granted, very few people here have F40's but those of us that do and those that have had them in the past are here. Considering the questions that have come up so far, I think it's probably a good idea to have one central base for your car.

I would very much like to follow the progress of this restoration. I curious to see what sort of challenges you will run into and how the car is developed.

Regardless, all the best on your endeavor.
