The braille is a nice lightweight battery. I ran one in my Elise. You can't go wrong with a Optima or an Odyssey.

If you want a lightweight battery, I'm afraid Braille is going to be the recommendation. They have built themselves a very solid reputation. But if you're getting a quote for many hundreds of dollars, I wonder if that's just Ferrari tax being added on?

Unless they are quoting you a lithium battery, those are in the thousands:

Yup, it was a lithium as we have been recommend 12v 63Amp 610 CLA. I cannot see why we cannot fall back on one of their non lithium seeing as how we are not racing and every kg is not crucial, albeit it will not have quite as high an output-is there really that much downside with going for the non lithium aside from weight?

Seeing as how pretty much every car battery on earth is NOT a lithium battery, no.

That I figured! Aside from weight and cost, they appear to offer a higher output but not sure how important that is in this instance.

Despite Colin being a blur of activity, electrical issues continue to frustrate but I always wondered if this phase might not be straightforward.

But before the weekend we managed to get this trace which is positive and shows the crank and cam sensors are working correctly.

    This is incredible.
I can't believe that I missed this thread since this was started.
    Really something awesome.
My uncle is adding a '90 one to his garage.
I'll look forward if I'll be able to give a contribution.

As you noted Tim, your not chasing after a super low curb weight, so a lightweight lithium isn't needed. On the race car we run a 6lb 16v battery since we don't use alternators.

What electrical problems are troubling you?

Too detailed to go into and may be some solutions tomorrow relating to the fuel pumps, Monday being a holiday here, no action today. Will update when I have more to report but as envisaged, in fact more so, the digital dash etc is proving somewhat complex and we want to make sure everything is spot on before mixing fuel and a spark.

Strange British tradition of bank Holidays. Whitsun of Whit Monday -- first Monday in May -- probably dating back to some pagan rite.

I remember you saying you have someone from MoTeC on call for remote diagnosis. I'm confident the MT team will get you squared away. It is a huge learn curve.

Slight issues nonetheless this thread of the complete and most thorough restoration of my all time favourite motorcar is the best.
This car is the most exciting thing to happen in the F40 world full stop!
    Keep at it lads.

Extinguisher now in situ and plumbed in.

Struggling slightly on the wheel. Momo or Sparco and I prefer Momo although all LMs I have seen seem to be inconsistent. I have some ideas but interested to hear any suggestions on model? Alternative is to refurb what we have but probably cheaper to buy new.

Go with what you prefer. After all, why go through all this trouble and expense to get stuck with something you don't really want? Especially something that you will be looking at and interacting with every time you drive the car.

Momo is period correct make sure it is suede and then choose the design that best suits you... They're only an 80 pound wheel and interchangeable in 5 mins.

I would suggest you choose the look of the wheel your like the best and what you feel fits the look of the car. It's your car so do what you want and enjoy the heck out of it. This is, of course, a race car.

Rorky, AKA The Trim Meister has delivered our first complete seat and it is perfect and so glad we decided to recover in original fabric rather than more practical road fabric.

Did you 'test fit' the seat for your bum first?

Tim, You made the correct decision on the choice of fabric. That seat is perfect.
