Hello Had the manifold off to change injectors, fuel lines(going ptfe everywhere) and WTS's... Getting the manifold off was fun in itself... un-did the clamps and then kicked the metal c-rings/half circles loose(then fished everything out that dropped!), manifold came off easy after that. Now to re-installing the manifold....what's the trick !? is it possible to assemble the rubber piece and c rings with the clamp around them on the lower section and then get the manifold to seat down and then tighten the clamps ???? I have got the manifold sitting on-top of the rings etc but can't seem to get it all to sit down into the rings..... Any advice from hose who have done this before ?? Cheers
I did this for the excact same reason two years ago. Not complicated but a PITA. If memory is correct: I put the 8 rubber gaskets on top of the intake manifold then placed the top housing on. Now you have to deal with the half rings and and clamps. Put the half rings in place and wrap the c clamp around it. Now here was the hard part for me: You need to hold the c clamp in place tightly so that you can get it threaded/started and there is not a lot of room to do this. Believe me - it took some time. I did the rear four clamps from the back of the car laying on the on part of the engine so the bolts face rearward. I did the front four clamps from the removable firewall behind the seats with the bolts facing forward. I used a 1/4 in drive and a long extension - may have even been a wobble extension. And don't drop anything as it will take hours to fish it out. I think I even laid some paper or rags to potentially catch anything I dropped. You suggestion may have merit. But this is how I did it. It was time consuming, and your fingers and back get cramp. One last suggestion. And I think this is correct thought I waited till the next belt change to do it. You may want to have someone with the electronic F40 reader/adjuster reset/tune the two ECU's and potentiometers as it might disturb the A/F ratio when you had the injectors cleaned. If you want to talk PM me with a number and I would be happy to commiserate with you. Good luck. Drew Altemara
Thanks for the replies.... Oh Crap ! i was hoping i didn't have to reassemble all those rings and clamps under the manifold, i have big hands and that's a nightmare ! I would like to get hold of a ECU data monitor, but no one in this part of Australia has one, even the local Ferrari dealer, was looking at buying one myself, any one have experience with RPLabs or randbmotorsport ? Has anyone got an actual workshop manual for the F40 ? i'd like to see the section of balancing the TB's and setting CO's among other things. Cheers
My hands are bigger than most heavy weight boxers and I have done it. I have an extra F40 manual I'll sell.

OK job done.... had a mate come over who was able to stick his hand all the way from the front and put the rings on, clamps were put on manifold and held up with tape before manifold was put in position, this made that step much easier, just drop them down and do them up. Rifledriver i would be very interested in the manual, its different of course than the manual that comes with the car ?(i have that) Cheers
There used to be a free online version of the workshop manual for the F40. Mike Rainbird at R&B is a first class supplier, no problems there, and RP Labs are well regarded in relation to the Weber system.
