May I ask if they are stock replacement's or upgraded replacement's? You know I really think I'm gonna have to test drive her just so I'll know forsure because misinformation is a pet peeve of mine, lol! Just having fun bud the F40 make's me do that, congrat's on getting those leaky snail's fixed.

Thats a bit of a trick question because the stock replacements are upgraded; ie the original part #s from 1992 are no longer available (you probably wouldn't want them even if they were/could be found). Maybe dave can rebuild the old ones just for spares. Leaky snails leave quite a trail ... lol

Are the newer replacements bigger? Are they still IHI turbos?

ya they are slightly bigger, and IHIs. Real PITA to get the current exhaust to bolt up without stress, so some mods were needed to the pipes. gotta love/hate ferrari sometimes..

Ah yes I forgot that they were upgraded my bad. Sorry for alot of question's of which I could get answered by doing a simple 'search' I'm sure but I like the 'insider input' so just a few more question's ok? Are both the hot and cold side's upgraded ie a bigger and more aggressive impeller and compressor or just the compressor? Also is there any turbine or compressor housing work done?

I wish I new all the answers but IHI and Ferrari aren't providing that kind of info. All I know is the outlet is larger, they use bearings instead of the old bushings, and the blades have an edge/lip on them instead being smooth. Supposedly they spool up faster and more progressive (instead of the big lag followed by the big bang). Should be interesting.

Ah yes the blade's have a more aggressive profile which lead's to quicker spooling which is very noticeable. Oh man the difference between BB and and normal bushing's are worth their weight in gold. Good luck and when you open her up we will need report's asap!

Thank's for your patience with me and my question's,
    Gregg

lol wes. As you know these are factory Ferrari stock parts, just not the original ones. But I get you point. Plenty of purists around that think a car is not to drive, thus not maintain.

Just curious how many hours did it take to replace? Looks fairly easly like a Supra Turbo replace. I've got a 300zx TT and when those go the easiest way to replace them is to pull the motor
