When one is down for servicing, you drive the other.....? The Elite have choices like that, I however do not. LOL.

I’m curious about wrapping the F40 and any possible detrimental effects to the 30 year old paint.

I've wondered about the same not to mention simple routine washing.

Regardless, here's Esoteric not only detailing but applying film @ 9:06 (which I assume would be consistent with a wrapping product) and ceramic coating to boot.

Ed, that is an excellent question.

The application is not a problem, the issue is, removal of the film can & will lift paint in the corners of the film if not done by a very skilled individual.

    Todd knows what he's doing.

Yes, wrapped. And yes for promotional purposes.

The car will be undergoing a full restoration once its promotional duties are completed.

Why does it need a full restoration?

Agree, I’ve thought out PPF for paint protection or even a wrap for fun (for a short time). But yes, it is the removal of which I fear may ruin the paint.
Is there anyone in SoCal that is as good as Todd, Esoteric?

I wondered the same when the claimed owner stated such in the wrapping video.

It appears to be a very nice example, gold zinc passivate etc all looked quite fresh, interior presented well etc etc Just under 30k miles late 92 model

The number plate alone I imagine could buy you something like a F430!

94647. The car has had that extra light, for whatever reason, since 2013 and probably longer.

Not that I can recommend, however I have just heard that the folks at Ferrari Newport Beach have an amazing detailer that has a facility next door in their new storage & photography center, ask Darko in Service about this.

On the other hand Todd can possibly arrange a trip to California as he has done in the past for a number of clients of mine.

That's a Tipo USA rear clamshell application, perhaps it was added, or perhaps the car now has a Tipo USA rear clamshell with side-markers removed?

Strangely, when the car was sold at auction in 2013 the car already had the extra brake light but was also in the process of being certified by Classiche. The certificate was "in the post"!

    How can this be?

I already know the answer! I thought I had read somewhere that an owner was concerned about driving in London without the higher brake light. Perhaps this was a different car.

The car was also previously owned by a UK TV celebrity and is one of many F40s to have been incorrectly identified. A Google search on ZFFGJ34B000094674 brings up more information than a search on the correct number of ZFFGJ34B000094647.

If you do this search, you will find that you need to add at least 6,200km to any recorded odometer reading now. The last UK MOT (in June 2019) recorded an odometer reading of 48,040 miles

    94674 is actually a Euro spec 348ts.

I know certain countries after 92 mandated a third brake light, so given the US spec cars already had this bolt on version, then maybe it was retro applied to this example in order get it registered in one of those after it left its first Italian owner and before it came to the UK.

Or it may have had to go through SVA at the time to get it UK registered if they did not have a COC and it was added then, much like the JDM cars coming in back then.
