Junk the car, and I'll buy it for parts Actually, will still work because the center wastegate pipe is present with the LM pipes. My stock exhaust comes off this week...back go the LM pipes !
Well now you've done it. Just when I thought I was getting something out of this besides a headache. I'll have to trash mine as well since it has a QuickSilver exhaust. Perhaps the yard would give us a better price if we went together...

Kaenergie, thanks for posting...great pics ! Recently, as you might recall, I had an issue with the right fuel pump "misbehaving" at the national meet during the Coppa Bella Macchina evaluation which the great service guys from Continental Ferrari in Chicago fixed. We had a 1 hour limit to find and fix any problem during the evaluation, and Tod Ruoti was able to trace the problem down to a faulty fuel pump connection brought on by water corrosion and fixed it within the allotted time. To illustrate the problem that occurred, I took some pics today after removing the engine cover behind the seats. If anyone is experiencing the same intermittent stumble or loss of a cylinder bank, you will know what to look for as a possible cause. Firstly, some pics of the engine panel removed... To give you a reference point of where to look on each side to find the fuel pump and the wire attaching to it on the tank, this pic shows the area to look from the back of the car. Pull the plastic on the right that acts as the wheel well cover slightly to the right, and look down with a flashlight... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Now, the fuel pump and tank is much easier to see for the left bank from inside the car with the cover off. This is what it looks like. It is the circular depression on the right with the wire coming out of it. As you can see, the design allows for water to stand in it, either after washing or rain, and the resultant corrosion causes the fuel pump to malfunction. Simple fix is to remove the connector and rough it up a bit, and spray the area with some silicone spray to remove moisture. Since I was there, I took a few more close up pics of the engine and gearbox. Jas, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I awoke you from a needed slumber and you nailed it. Same problem you had, I did today. Quick 5 min fix and off to the concourso. I've got 10 min to change and head back for the reception. You are the best brother! Harry
Enjoy your day gentlemen and keep the pictures coming. Jas, I love the cleanliness of your engine....I wish my engines were that clean. How do you keep them that clean? Mine keep getting dusty whenever I use the cars for a few days. Ofcourse, I live in a different enviroment.
thats simple - he hardly ever drives them - lol http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a18/nickholbrook/garagequeens.jpg ps btw gr8 pics
tarek, just a damp cloth wipe down, and then some mild silicone treatment for the hoses. I'm probably considered a little OCD when it comes to keeping my stuff clean, but I'm sure a lot of F-car owners can relate. Body wise, just a good wash down with a microfiber mitt, with a mild car detergent. If it has previous wax on it, I like to use a quick spray nanowax from eagle one that goes on easy and just wipes off....shine is deep, and looks great, but not very durable (a couple of washes). I used zymol ital concours glaze last time...goes on by hand, and leaves an incredible deep gloss shine...I leave that for displays and concours only though....it is great stuff (try it, you will really like it) Tires, i don't like the shiny stuff...just a matt blackener. I use microfiber cloths on everything..no chamois, no terry cloth. Other than that, just a lot of TLC !
Sorry for some poor quality... hard taking a photo from a moving sportscar! I have to also include this photo of a the 288 GTO.... it may in fact be my favorite photo I've ever taken! Jas A big thanks to making a few recomendation for Harry earlier... God.... You know... but... OMG The power in the Ferrari F40 is simply awesome! The sounds, and the feel of tire ripping accellearation ON THROTTLE... no matter what car I've driven, or been driven in... I honestly don't think much compares to the F40... in some ways, the powerband in the CGT reminds me of it... but different. i suppose its the way the on boost, off boost feel is. I'm VERY impressed... even though I work in and around an F40 quite often... i've never had a ride at WOT... something VERY special, thanks to Harry, and thanks to you Jas One VERY satisfied man here!!! Fantastic shots Isaac...the moving F40 shot is perfect. What shutter speed was that ? You captured the motion beautifully. The gas station pic has been saved ! The 288GTO is such a beast looking head on....great shot. The early morning condensation on the F40 headlights is not unusual...The sealer around the headlight unit is notoriously porous. In fact, I overheard judges at Cavallino stating that it is so common, it is considered part of the F40 ownership experience. Thanks for posting the pics...hopefully more to come ?
