F40 popping noises under acceleration

Hey All,

I have an F40 that I’ve been working on sorting out and just got it back on the road after a thorough nut and bolt that included fixing a couple vacuum leaks.

I am noticing that on moderate/hard throttle when the turbos kick in that it makes a series of staccato whip cracks and I’m wondering if that’s normal or something I need to look into. There aren’t any other issues in how it’s running so more of a preventative maintenance question.

The car had its cats deleted and has a tubi exhaust installed by a prior owner and I’m thinking of going back to stock.

Any insights or advice?
