I just bought this pouch on EBay and have received it. Upon inspection, the leather pouch differs from the pouch I have with my F40. Does anyone know if the pouches distributed in Europe were different than the USA models? The pouch is a schedoni pouch for a Ferrari but has a snap closure which my F40 pouch does not have and also does not have F40 embossed on the leather.

I emailed the seller and he said: sorry, I bought this from an F40 owner, and he told me that is what it was. Sorry, and tough luck, the pictures were posted and you bought what I posted.

I suppose i will refuse to pay paypal for the auction, and will give him very negative feedback.

Please don't take this the wrong way but :

Realistically the documents are worth a thousand bucks especially if the service book is good

The pouch looks to be standard and worth maybe another couple of hundred

So not only would I say you have not been ripped off but also you probably knew the price was wrong for a genuine F40 pouch (which he does not actually exactly say it is)

coachi, not that it matters now, but I saw this ad a couple of weeks ago and posted about its dubious nature...

Hopefully, the combination of paypal and ebay pressure works for you. I sent the seller a message stating that it was not an F40 pouch, but got no response...

His entire EBay listing was deceiving...collectors dont collect incorrect pouches. I wish I had seen your post before buying the item; he also charged 138 bucks for shipping from Germany. He wont get a positive rating from me; the manuals may be worth whati paid for the entire thing, and i know EBay purchases are not a guarantted thing, but payapl and credit card cxompanies can be a bear to deal with as far as he is concerned. I was hoping Euro pouches were different...this pouch is lighter in color and definitely nothing like my F40 pouch.

    Live and learn :)

Caveat Emptor is absolutely the mantra of eBay's Paypal system. They simply do not care about after sale issues and you have no recourse to the credit card company who will say that you did a deal with Paypal and Paypal fulfilled their end of the bargain. The seller is one step removed from the payment process and his behavior is not a part of your payment. It sucks, but that's the reality of using eBay and Paypal

well, the seller's feedback will suffer, that I feel certain of...also the fraud department of EBay will be contacted, as well as paypal...since i use cc to pay, i can also refuse to pay; but really it is no biggie...i just saw the same pouch on EBay for sale for 99.99 from the UK, not the manuals of course...those may be worth the rest of the money I spent.

In any case, I would not send the rascal anything back unless he paid me in full, including that ridiculous 138 shipping. From now on, I have learned to inquire about the shipping before buying anything from europe...they do not publish the charges and then kill you.

Not to say that the system is without monumental flaws, I did successfully recover a payment under the PayPal Buyer Protection program approximately 18 months ago. Oddly enough, the item in dispute was a F40 Owners Manual from a seller with 100% rating who vaporized soon after my purchase.

The upside to buying from Ferrariliterature.com is the stuff is guaranteed to be correct. I can assure you that if anything in that pouch (or any other they sell) is wrong, the guys at FerrariLiterature would make it right instantly.

although, I'd be AMAZED if anything was wrong. the owner there is quite the collector, and really knows his **** when it comes to pouches and contents, and the cars that go with them.

Agreed. Genuine articles only, cream of the crop and understandably expensive.

Well, agreed on that, but the books I bought with the not correct pouch are in superb brand new condition. Even so, an F40 pouch with the correct manuals in mint condition should not be more than 4,000.00 I would think.

The manuals for ZFFGJ34B000088466 are listed on ebay if anyone on Fchat happens to own that particular F40.
