Sorry if repost, sorry I cant find any pics, you ca veiw pics and the story int he new Forza mag.

Twenty road cars, including seven Ferraris, went n auction in paris in mid February. While five of Blatons Ferraris were raod cars, two were built for the track. The first is a mucgh-modified 1991 348 tb(s/n 82881). Belgium's garage Francorchamps reduced the cars weight by more than 600 lb. through extensive use of carbon fiber and kevlar, reinforced the chassis, installed an adjustable rear wing and fitted a flat bottom. The resulting'tbf'(f for francrochamps) was a regualr visitor at the Spa Ferrarsi Days, where it topped 186 mph. The second track car was another Garage Francorchamps creation: a one-off, open top machine that looks like a roofless F40. The cars carbon fiber tub helps keep curb weight to 1750 lb., while power comes form a 760 hp F40 engine prepared by Michellotto. Maximum speed over 220mph !!! Neither track car found a new home, despite estimates of 50,000-70,000 for the 348 and 140,000 to 170,000 for the F40-style machone. Any takers???

The picture of the conv. F40 looked like it would be a fun car to take out on the track and that is it.

These are serious track cars. The F40 wasn't chopped initially and it looked much better as a berlinetta. It had F1 like suspension. I'll post some pictures when at home later.

p.s. does the article give a s/n for the F40? As far as I know it doesn't have a normal s/n but something like F4-001?

Blaton's collection was put for sale last february through the French auction house Artcurial.

Have no clue what the results finally were. Some of his cars really were one-of-a-kinds and seen several times at some major events...

No, it doesn't have a s/n. All it says is it 's aone off, F-40 powered prototype. Also, do you have any bigger pictures of it?

Well sorry to disappoint you but is it not a real ferrari ! It is a home made tubular chassis using a Hewland gearbox and F40 modified body + engine. The car does not have a Ferrari s/n but the owner names it JB001, for Jean Blaton of course... The car does not have any Ferrari badge or script because it was not allowed by the Factory.

Badged Ferrari or not, it's still a trackday beast... (with the amazing sound of an F40 as well!)
