I searched the archives but couldn't find anything. How much would it cost to buy an F40 nowadays. I am currently setting some money aside to purchase a 355 next year and want to know what the next prancing horse will cost me. Thanks guys.

US F40 : 300 000 $ seems to be the bottom for a good car.
You can get virtually new ones for 350/375 000 $ .

Also, one was sold at the Bonhams auction in Monterey for $304K, with about 4500 miles. (I don't know if that price includes commission.)

How do the F40 price movements compare to the 288 GTO ? I have heard that the 288 GTO's can be found for $50-70k less.

I'd love to find a GTO for 50-70K. I'm seeing GTOs in the low to mid $300KUSD range.

    Read his post again Chris...

That makes sense now doesn't it? Unless you meant 50-70k LESS. Then I get ya...

I mentioned before an F40 that sold for $304 at Bonhams in Monterey. The same person ALSO bought a 288 that weekend, at RM for $302K. So at least in this case, they're pretty close.

Chris can the F40 be considered an everyday driver if you want to? Although they are Ferraris, I still see it as a car and may want to drive it whenever. I am a firm believer that these cars only get better with use. As far as resale is considered, I'll let my sons decide on what its worth after I die. :)

Not sure if I am the Chris you are referring to, but I will try to answer this!

The F40 is capable of being a daily driver, but I am not sure if a driver is...

I love mine and I put 3 to 4,000 miles year on it but, I must admit I am always tired when I get out!

The noise, the acceleration, the deceleration the fact that everyone, including the police are watching your every move, well it just overwhelms you after a while.

If you are over 5' 11" it is a tight fit....

I do not remember who said it on here, but it was the best answer I have heard.. I would drive my F40 anyday of the week, just not everyday of the week....

An everyday driver, easy a 550/575 no question....

    Chris (Parr)
