    Dear Fchatters,
I recently came across a youtube video about the F40 prototype that used to or still belongs to the Pasta King in Italy, as well as having been the 1987 showcar in Paris. They say this car is 400?! pounds lighter than the standard version, as well as having over 600hp with the LM turbo chargers. As I am in a serious search for a special F40 I have a couple of questions.

What is the market value of this particular vehicle? Similar to an LM or GTE? Ive never seen it listed anywhere as a special model.

Assuming a purchase is made of a "normal" F40, is the '87 a better year or the 91? The reason for the two choices as I can tell is the 87 has the sliding windows, might be more of the "real deal" as the 91 has the full windows, A/C heavier etc. I would not be tracking this car, but am planning on driving roughl 100 miles/month on it. Does one have the adjustable suspension, or was that a car to car option? I really need that here in LA.

If I wanted to "personalize" my F40, similar to the specs of the Prototype or an LM clone, ( and I think keeping with the way the car was originally is vital, so everything needs to be reversable or at least coveted by all) where do I find LM turbo's? Are they just IHI turbos that are larger and I can find those by themselves, or are these some top secret Michelotto items that only they can source/put on etc. Are there any prototype pieces like the rear cover (that was 30kg lighter for example?) Any help in finding QUALITY tuners and parts for such items, just to make the car a little unique? Im not taking it to Midas for a TUBI

Any Fchatter have a nice clean example, well documented, doesnt need to be a garage queen but mechanically and cosmetically sound, willing to part for the neighborhood of $500-650?

Well to answer a few things for you:

The sliding window, red inner door panels and adjustable suspension was only on some Euro spec cars. So if you want that, you would have to add it to a USA spec car.

As for the years, get what ever you find the best deal on!

And as for that one prototype being about 400 pounds lighter. I don't know, that seems like alot considering how light the production car is.

Finally, all of them have A/C, so don't "sweat" that.

    Good luck!!!!
