I have finally gotten around to cleaning off the old deteriorated radiator to hood seal from the top of my F40's radiator.

Does anyone here have a source for this stuff?...I was told that Ferrari does not have a replacement part number, etc.. It appears to have been a foam seal w/adhesive.....Still trying to find a way to remove the old adhesive residue from the top of the radiator. :(

    TIA, Joe

As for removing the gunk, try WD40, or rubbing alcohol.

As for the piece, I think it was RufMD, or maybe 410SA who said the piece was like $50. If this is the same foam I am thinking of.

    Joe,

I ordered a replacement for mine and found an issue you may want to take note of. It was indeed an original part (part number given on the receipt was 62761900), but when that comes to foam that means its been sitting on the shelf for years....and basically becomes a powder when you touch it. My foam piece literally crumbled apart when they went to install it. Now, they reordered it, and checked before shippping to make sure it had not deteriorated, so I would ask that your source do the same.

I ended up getting it through T Rutlands, but I'm sure ricambi or any dealer could source it...If you order the original piece and it is brittle, at least you would have a template to just make a new piece from similar foam....but beware, it may not pass Classiche :) :) :)
