Bit of a technical ignition question here for anyone who is able to answer.

Does the F40 have two ignition boxes? As in, one for each bank? Or is it all managed by one unit, if so, is the tach signal output on that box?

I think this is the case, but is the F40 tachometer a square wave reading tachometer which accepts a V8 signal? Or is it like 308/328 in that it's a 4 cylinder tachometer only accepting one banks signal because it manages the two banks seperately.

    thanks all

I believe there is actually 4 ignition boxes/coils each running two cylinders.

There are two ecu's and the tachometer signal is fed from the ecu for cylinders 5-8, or so say the wiring diagrammes. Whether they are all built that way is another question.

Btw, there are indeed four coil packs.

my left bank, 5-8 just shut down and the tach went with it, so this would seem to confirm the above. fwiw.
