F40 VIN 83505 Fantastic story

Some days ago, I met the first owner of VIN 83505, a belgian ex-scrapyard owner (yes!) who purchased the car in 1987 after seeing it on the Fiorano test track. He absolutely wanted to have an F40 but his dealer told him he had to have some other Ferraris first (perfect sales argument). Now, because this guy really had to have one, he ordered a 348, Mondial and Testa too and told the guys at Ferrari that now he has some other Ferraris, he wanted to order a F40!

From the moment he received the F40 from Francorchamps motors in Brussels, he started competing with it in the Ferrari cup of the early nineties. He replaced the front hood, suspension and some other things and even won the Ferrari cup championship in Europe! He still has many pics of those days.

Nowadays, he is 69 years old and sold the car many years ago. This is just a fantastic person and the only thing he asked me is to know how his 'baby' is currently doing.

I know the world of Mondials, 3x8's and TR's well, but I don't have many F40 connections.

Do you guys have a clue about the whereabouts of this car?

Yes, that's him. Any idea who was the French owner at that time?

 

No, he sold 2 of 3 orders with a profit.

 

And we found the car! Front hood and car will be reunited again !
