I was following TIm40's proceedure to clean and lube the waste gate on the F40 and ran into a problem. After you remove the cover you have to remove the spool piece and menbrane. To do this you must remove a center 10mm nut. Tim's proceedure said remove nut. Problem is that there is a circular slotted nut/washer that fits on top of the nut. How do you remove this piece? I'm stuck for now. See Tim's picture below of what I'm refering to.

    Hey Drew,

Got your PM and logged back on.

There was nothing tricky when I removed said nut. I simply used a thin walled socket which fit over the bolt end and onto the nut. Came off no problem.

Hope you're successful in the maintenance and in getting your car back on the road. Just got back in from a long jaunt in the F40; what incredible fun - even after all the years I've had it. :)
