Anyone has informations on this F40? Did the owner received his F40 like that, and someone knows where its located. If someone has more pictures of this F40 , please share, Thanks. Image Unavailable, Please Login
looks like it is set up as a road rally car, not so much for track use, note the high ride height, sliding window, the headlights were probably removed, but my best guess is that they are masked for repainting.
i know this, i am a very familair with the f40. check the lower lip on the grille, note in one it is a placard and in the other it is painted. the one with the masked headlights has a new windshield. i think it is an 88-89 model, something familiar about it, still can't place it.
It is Ferrari F40 s/n84184, I see it last year. Now it is in Geneva Automobile Museum, i see it in march this year. I have 75 photos of it, they will be this summer online on my website. Here is 4. Alain
No, this is not true. Height adjustment was made available by Ferrari during the F40 production run. I don´t know exactly when, but I guess somewhere around 1989 or 1990. Earlier cars did not have it.
Hi Alain, Got the S/N from www.barchetta.cc/All.Ferraris/events-stories/museum/geneva-auto-museum/geneva-auto-museum-gallery-ferrari/index.html Best Boudewijn
At the end of may, I have to go at the Museum and I will check the s/n. But normally I wrote the s/n when I took the pictures. And I know the coachbuilder who repaired it and perhaps he has a copy of the license-drive. Alain
Salut Alain, I confirm it is 84184. I spotted it at Garage Zenith, Sion 3 years ago. Nice pics. Ciao Greg
The headlights are just protetected by ducttape agaisnt stone chips for either track or road rally use.
Did anybody know if this is the car from the first owner Mr. Charles Züger from Switzerland? Was it first plated in Switzerland?
First off: Andrew is right. He simply taped over it for a track event or the like. Also, the adjustable hydraulic height system was an option for european cars. No US car shipped with it, and only 10 kits were made for the US market, priced at $25k at the time. All 10 kits were swallowed up VERY quickly. --Dan
