Thinking about an LM hood for the 40. How difficult are they to install ? How much you have to alter a road F40 apart from deleting the "trunk" ?

and where in the world can I find one ?

    Thanks

It wont fit a street car without changing the rocker panels. Both the LM and GTE hoods are 2 to 4 inches wider than a street car hood. Both require special wheels/offsets. These are liftoff hoods as well. Youll have to replace the front and rear clips, rocker panels, f&r control arms, wheels, and the front subframe. if you can find a repairable hood it would be easier to fabricate one. Dont try driving around with the windows rolled down and the AC off, all that heat goes right in the windows.

The front splitter is something david hand made. I believe it was based off of an aftermarket tr splitter.

vs. making a custom mold and hood, if you found a 'slightly' damaged stock hood available (reduced initial cost), it could be a good candidate for modification to LM look while being repaired?

    William,
here's a guy with a (soon) extra hood, which would make a good candidate for LM appearance (if the purchase price was right?) mods would be slight (lamp openings, etc)
