When in reverse and going very slowly and getting ready to shift into 1st I hear a clunk from the transmission.... not always. Is this normal? Am I paranoid with tis sound? Thanks

It's hard to tell exactly from your description but I say paranoid.

For what it's worth, I hear it the same on my f430. It just sounds like it's going into gear to me.

    Check your upper transmission mount.

My F430 F1 does the same thing about 1 of 20 times I reverse it. I spoke to the dealer, they said its common during some reverse use only , and never common for forward use. I think it s a lash or preload between forward and reverse >, Mine seem fine.

I always get worried when i hear a noise as well, your ok on this one.

My F1 has lots of random gremlins. I wouldn't worry.

For me, worst is the bucking from a down slope stop sign. Not just a torque reversal clunk like yours, but a clutch-declutch-clutch-declutch-clutch sequence. Doesn't happen all the time. Temperamental beast, as they say.

The F1 system was reported here as designed to always slip in Reverse so that is one mode of travel to be avoided so that clutch life can be increased.

What ended up as your ultimate solution?

Hey, mine does something similar. If I just let it roll downhill, I get a clack-clack-clack with a tiny bucking. I don't mind it, so long as it's not killing any expensive parts!
