Hi Guys, just got my '06 F430 about a month ago. I just started to notice that when I lock my car the car alarm chirps a few times. Normally it would just make a single chirp when the doors locked. Then today I noticed it after I locked it and it chirped about a minute after that. Any thoughts? I checked to make sure all windows and trunk/engine bay were properly closed and they were. Thank you
JD, I have been working with the security features on my car, lately. If, for example, the engine cover is open, I will get a double chirp from the alarm when I push the lock button on the key. If I close the engine cover: no chirps. Your lids are latched but maybe the switch or switches are not closed and so the security system thinks they are open and gives you the chirps. Look at the multi-function display before you lock it next time and see if, even with all the doors latched there still is a pictograph of an open door. Also, a wiring plug could be loose or a wire broken in the open/closed door circuit. Tom 2007 F430 Coupé
Mine does the same. She is Italian she does what she wants! My alarm didn't work for 6 months and the I changed the battery now it works well.. Go figure
My car has never made a chirp when locking or unlocking, which I believe is the default and indicates all is normal. I am aware the indicators flash though. On a related topic - is there any way I can alter the settings so it DOES chirp ? This would be quite helpful for knowing if I've locked or unlocked it as I'm walking away and not unwittingly pressed the fob twice.
That chirping usually means the siren battery inside the trunk is about to go, since it is a sealed unit you have to replace the whole siren: Ferrari Parts : 186593 SIREN : Ricambi America
Please post if you replace the siren and it does anything. Mine has chirped for 3- years now, so if my siren battery is going, it's going slowly?
