This question was asked in another post (https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/spider-top-issues.687927/#post-149485523 .......... Threads #8 & 13) and I believe it should have it's own posts for everyone to update on what's working. The SDS's are out of reach for most people, yours truyly included

There is absolutely NO affiliation with any of the scanners mentioned

I think most of us need to be able to looks at OBD2 functions (for both banks), ABS, Airbag, Capote (like for me), some of you want PIS, etc.

I will start with saying that I have seen on some older threads that some folks have been successfully using the Foxwell NT510. A search found that it was succeeded with a newer NT530

Who's using what and what can you see/manipulate?
    Who's using the Foxwell NT530?

    Please chime in.

I got the ThinkDiag 2 with Ferrari pack. Haven't hooked it up to my 360 yet, but I've seen a few on here who use it, and Ratarossa on youtube had a few vids using it to relearn the F1, set the PIS, etc. Not sure if it will clear Airbag errors, but it can activate the ABS while bleeding the brakes.

I ordered the Foxwell NT710 which is listed as the updated version of the NT530 and NT510. I was able to use it, but every time I did a scan, it threw all sorts of codes just by scanning. It's shelved now (in case anybody wants to give it a go on their end, let me know). I purchased an Autell AP200 from Amazon and only get suspension errors now when reading codes but it was mentioned that this is normal for most code readers.

I bought a Thinkdiag 2 last week; ran it for the first time today … really impressed, it’s very fast and appears to do everything I need - including PIS

    Great value I think

My car came with a Foxwell NT510. I fount it kind of buggy. It would lockup or just ext randomly. I bought a Thinkdiag and it does everything I need. PIS, relearn, f1 system bleed, check engine, capote etc. I’d does cause a suspension error when you have it scan everything. It clears all codes including the one it caused.
    I want a Lauch x431 because……….;)

I’ve been using a Launch X431 Pro S Mini for the last four years. Has done everything I’ve needed (clutch wear, relearn, codes, F1 flush, etc).

I think we need to consider the year of the car .. especially the 360 .. e.g. no transmission access on anything less than a 2004 I believe

I don't have first hand knowledge of the software but I believe there is only 2 group of software code out there in the regular consumer market ..launch and autel

All the tools you see foxwell , topdon etc are built in one of those

The thinkdiag is exactly launch software with some features removed .. save as the ap200 has the same software as the expensive autel but most of it removed or bypassed

This is my view as a IT product development and product management manager

All I am saying if you can read a module with a launch mini you can do it with a thinkdiag etc

If you can read a module with a autel 908 you probably can read it with a ap200 or a foxwell

The difference between modules even within the same manufacturer is which objects in the code are allowed to be executed based on model .

So the Foxwell NT510 sees the Capote.
    Thank you for this info

I wonder if the Launch x431 sees the Capote too

Im personally also looking for a code reader and clearer (and more, if it can read clutch and brake wear even better, for a F430 spider btw in my case), considering any garage will ask about 100+ euros to clear codes, thats like 2-5x using a machine urself to get it back (depending on how much the system is you buy). But i do hear the Thinkdiag 2, the Launch X431 pass by most of the times, guess ill start looking into those

So do any of these mentioned read all the codes without throwing codes like the suspension error?

My Autell AP200 doesn’t generate any unnecessary fault codes. I use it on my 2004 360 spider it even reads capote codes and live data.

I have a Foxwell NT710 and a Launch 431. Both will do all necessary functions for me, with the Launch perhaps a little easier to navigate, but it's triple the $$.

I’m not certain on the capote function on the foxwell. The Thinkdiag has it for sure.
I stopped using the foxwell once I received the Thinkdiag. sorry

Did your foxwell light up all the codes when you did a scan?

Yes, the Foxwell pulled all codes. The difference between both units I've seen so far is the Launch gives you clutch wear %, where you have to do the math with the Foxwell. You do have to download the Ferrari pack in order for it to work though, where the Launch could read Ferrari right out of the box.

I mean does it trip the codes? I have the Ferrari pack, but when I do a scan it triggers every code under the sun. Makes it kind of pointless if you're trying to find a code but the reader keeps making more for you.

ThinkDiag is by far the best in terms of price:features ratio. It's ~$110 and has almost all functionality of the dealer software. Highly recommend.

I have the Launch x431. I have not tried any special functions but can confirm it will read clutch wear and communicate with all of the car modules.

Great idea to have a thread to focus on this!

A friend of mine that is way more tech/auto mechanic handy then me need a bi-direction diag tool for his Son's Mazda 8. I told him that I wanted such a tool for my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel and 2021 Mini Cooper and wishful thinking it would work for a Ferrari 360 since I am actively shopping for that car.

    So we purchased a:
    https://www.topdon.com/products/ArtiDiag900-BT

So far he has the tool and I don't have a Ferrari 360 yet so I can't try it but I hope that changes soon (I find a good 360) so I can try it and update this thread with my findings.
