    Hi,
I am considering purchasing an F430 to replace my Mercedes.
Any issues associated with this car if I drive it every day?
Your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I dont know if that is a good idea. In my 36 years of owning Ferraris, I never used one as a primary car. An inexpensive daily driver can withstand the indignities of airport parking, rush hour traffic, unwanted attention etc better, not to mention cheaper maintenance costs.

I sold my 430 last month after 18 months of daily driver use in southern California. I had absolutely no mechanical problems of any sort. Other than a skid plate, tires and the service I had performed to prepare the car for sale, I didn't need to put a dime into it in the 12K+ miles i drove it. Very reliable, comfortable & usable - great DD in my opinion. The only potential issue is where its parked.

    -Cheers

Why would you think that this topic was "Not Model Specific?" Thread moved.

I now have over 3000 weekend trouble free miles on my 430 Spider.

But as a DD the real issue in nice weather would be parking.. If I had a covered secure garage at work (commute by train into Manhattan) maybe, but then living in New England I would never consider driving an FCar in snow or ice..even shod with the proper tires, IMHO it is really a recipe for disaster.

i know someone who uses his 430 as a daily drive, i think 20k plus miles so far, and claims it is just fine for that use. (his exotic is the veyron, which he still parks in regular parking lots - its good to be king).

I drive my Scuderia as a daily driver. Other than occasional itch to obliterate everything else on the road I have no problems :)

You only get that itch occasionally? How do you maintain sanity?

I don't use my Scuderia as a DD but I certainly could. It's more comfortable and easier to drive than my DD.

I don't use mine as a daily driver, but I certainly know people who do...........why not, it's only a car.

it's as reliable as a DD as a bentley contienental or a high end mercedes or a 911 turbo or any of those cars..

    so in short

yes it makes a great DD..

those concerns with parking etc. are relative.. if you park in the ghetto.. any decent car would pose a concern.

You just have to be careful with clutch wear if you travel a lot in urban areas.

    Thanks for the feedback.
The impression I now have that it is ok to use a F430 every day.

I know that the newer Porsches are definitely not as reliable, or of the quality that they once were, the same applies to the depreciation here in the UK.

    £65,000 buys a basic 911 Carrera...feels like like a Japanese car.
The same money buys a 3/4 year old low mileage F430, lovely interior and fabulous image.
After seeing a video presentation on how F430's are built at the factory, I have a new appreciation for the marque and its quality.

Must buy one in the new year, thanks guys

    There are 3 reasons I don't DD my 360
    1) low clearance so every driveway is a problem
    2) parking
    3) I would be VERY bent if someone hit my car while parked like they did my Lexus over the weekend

If you have adverse weather that could come into play too but not much of an issue here.
