    I'm interested...

    Two questions:

    1) I'm more than a little handy with a wrench - how's installation?

    2) The link says *may* trigger a CEL - well, does it? :)

The welds on the Capristo nameplates are atrocious.
I would not buy them based on this alone.

I have these and installed them, just have to be careful not to bend the clamps. The pipes are easy to install, however, you have to remove the exhaust to get to get to them and create room to install them, there is much more to that. Probably take less than a day.

Mine threw a CEL, I don't see how you would not get a CEL if you remove your cats

    Darn… thanks, but I’m gonna pass… I get enough CELs without creating more… :(

    Hi Kevin

Yes they will through a CEL, you can either remove it with a tune , OBD wizard or an O2 spacers

btw, I in no way meant to discourage getting these, they look, sound and work awesome, and add some needed flex to the exhaust line. Very high quality product especially compared to some other aftermarket products I've seen. I love them and would scoop these up in a sec if I didn't have them already (no affiliation).

Thanks John. Yes the flex idea is very needed and important to minimize cracking in manifolds

    Does a CEL change anything?

Well it depends on why you're getting the CEL , this isn't the only reason that you could get one. The computer measure the exhaust content pre and post cats. So in this case, if you remove the cats, the CEL is basically telling you your exhaust isn't being filtered properly.

In my case, that was my intention, so I had my ECU modified to ignore this particular error code. Ignoring the error code doesn't change anything.

So to answer your question, this CEL doesn't change anything, it is just telling you that your cats aren't working properly.

So if your next question is, 'do your cats need to be working properly?', they filter exhaust gas for reduced bad emissions, running with or without them is your call.

Lastly, you're not getting through inspection with a CEL. If an inspector sees the CEL, they'll fail you as they now your car is not managing emissions. I don't need to get inspected as I've got collector plates.

As I understand it, in California, they are so strict about emissions, even if you program out the error, I think they still check and will fail you, but you'd have to check in with others on that.
