F430 Challenge engine in a F430 Coupe

I am putting an F430 Challenge engine back together to fit in a F430 Coupe. From what I heard, the only difference between both types are the ignition modules (ECU). Other than that, the engine of the Challenge version should be the same as the Coupe unit. BUT : someone told me the Challenge might have different Timing settings to a normal 430. Is that so?
