Hi guys, I am new to the forum and I am looking to buy my first Ferrari. I want to buy a F430 CS but have some questions.. 1. When is it expected to be released in the US? 2. What is the expected sticker price? 3. What is the expect markup on these cars once they hit showrooms? Thanks in advance, BD
I thought I heard Spring of '08 release. I'm guessing a sticker of $225k or in that neighborhood, but it's only a guess. I would think the mark up would be in the $100k range. I'd be curious what others think.
I think sticker will be higher...Just to option a 430 close to the CS, with brakes, carbon upper and lower, carbon engine..would be 240k add addl for the fact it is a "CS" ie more horsepower and special do dads, i think you will be much closer to 260k. And i do agree with the 100K market adjustment. Hmmm....360k for a CS, I think my 04 Stradale just went up a couple bucks!
F430 CS as your first Ferrari? Buy a used Ferrari first, then you could order one. I don't think you can order a Ferrari from the dealership without having a relationship with them.
Thanks for the info guys!! So am i looking at around $350k-$400k depending on options? What are the "must have" options for a car like this? Thanks, BD
I am getting hooked up by a friend with 10 yr relationship with dealer. Would a low mileage F430 spider be a good candidate? Also, what are the prices on brand new (under 250 miles) for a F430 spider?? Are sellers having problems unloading them or are they flying off the lots? Thanks BD
This doesn't sound right. You have a friend with 10 year dealer relationship, yet you are asking questions that imply absolutely zero knowledge of the Ferrari world as it pertains to dealer's, new cars, expected model launches etc. Firstly - there is no 430 Challenge Stradale. That has been discussed at length in Fchat threads. There is likely to be an end of run special version 430, probably called the LP or Leggera Pista, but it will not be a dramatically different car due to the consent decree in effect with the DOT, which allowed 430's to be sold until the end of the 2008 model year. The DOT gave a two year exemption based on the lack of passenger side airbag sensors and the assertion by Ferrari that a new model to repalce the 430 was due in the 2009 model year. Whatever the final version will be, every one is already sold, to dealers' customers. Regarding options, no-one has a clue what the car will be, therefore even less information exists (imagine that, less than zero) regarding options. If you are serious about this kind of car, do yourself a favor a buy a Challenge Stradale (Note - there is no numeric prefix). A CS is a wonderful car and would be a great first Ferrari. It would be under $200k and my guess is that it will be a better track and performance car than the supposed 430 LP. Regarding 430 Spiders - are you serious in asking if those cars are having a hard time being sold?
You're probably better off/more likely to get the spider if your friend can help. You may want to google around a bit and do some research so you don't get publicly stoned by some people around here
i'm constantly amazed at how "unforgiving" (euphemism for rude) some fchat members are when a "new guy" stumbles in and asks a simple question. if a seasoned and all knowing fchatter doesn't like a thread then just ignore it.
There was no must have options on the Stradale as it came with shields, challenge grill , F1 gb , Racing seats , Ceramic brakes . The only option that you can call a must ( debatable ) was the stripe at $5k. A lot of owners had aftermarket stripes made though.. If this 430 Stradale comes , it should have the F1 superfast Gb , the ceramic brakes , the challenge grill , the shields , the racing seats and carbon all over the interior .. I dont think you would end up looking at a $350k car..Id say $300k top. The *360* Stradale was MSRPed at +30k Euros in europe for info.
+1 Sorry Alex. That was kind of a rude response..sorry..an unforgiving response. The guy has made 4 posts. As for a 430CS. It's true that there will never be one. But back when we all called an Enzo an F60, the online world was a bit more forgiving. But still, when people called an Enzo an F60, everyone knew exactly what they meant..without jumping on them. As for buying a 430CS or whatever it is called, don't really count on getting one new from a dealer. Even the dealer here in AZ has said there is no "430CS" list yet, and don't bother asking to have your name put on it as they are all already spoken for. They pointed out the fact that they got 6 Challenge Stradales in 2004..and if they get 6 "430CS"s, they are all going to the 6 best customers...ie...the 6 that buy loads of cars. But as Alex said, go get a Challenge Stradale and enjoy that. In the meantime its the next best thing.
I would like to thank all of you guys for your great responses and very much appreciated help. Yes, i am a new guy here and I am very un-informed, but thanks to all of you who are helping me learn. I will look into the 360CS and/or 430 spyder. Thanks again, BD
hey. seriously. it's not a 360CS. it's a "challenge stradale" or simply a "stradale". no 360 in the name at all. don't make this mistake again (i'm kidding of course). but seriously no 360 in the name. if you can't land an F430 pista light (or whatever they call it) then a stradale would be a teriffic fall back position. simply a fantastic car. period.
+1 on getting a Stradale. They are on a league of their own in terms of driver involvement and feedback.
Hey.... I had a bad day and my trolldar was screeching. Normally I'd let the more energetic youngsters go after the inconsistencies, but today was just one of those days
Good for you for steppin up!!! that shows some f-chat class! Troll or no Troll it is a viable question, as far as what the real dollars will be for he "challenge Stradale" (thats for you 720) replacement. As Rodney King once said "Cant we all jus get along"
Well, you might want to check out page 52 of the July issue of Car and Driver magazine because they say different. "The Challenge Stradale should go on sale early 2008. Expect it to cost perhaps 20 percent more than the regular F430" The 360 version CS came out one year before they retired the design, looks like a similar strategy for the 430. I wonder who is correct?
