Hello Dominic My pleasure ..i did forget to check your e-diff leakage rate .. maybe you can do that in your spare time. Basically go into auto scan and pick e-diff and go real to time data ..screen print that screen Thanks Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
If I was to guess at the issue ..I would say spark plug are the first things that come to mind btw ..just doing the coil swap to eliminate a point of failure without a lot of work Spark plugs are pretty much a easy diy if you want to take it on Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
Fyi all the communication error codes are likely from the Autel itself. For some reason when it probes the abs it momentarily kills traffic on the bus and everything subsequently freaks out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That is really interesting. I cleared all the codes and came back again, and they are very similar to what the OP has... So you are saying I should not be concerned about those comms error codes? Thanks!
List your codes I know some of the ones that should be ignored e.g. b1005 Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
Here they are: Read codes Diagnostics time: 2021/11/18 15:18 Path: 430 (F131E) > Auto scan > Read codes > 1. B1005 Suspensions failure Missed 2. B100A Check engine failure Missed 3. B100B Slow down failure Missed 4. B100C Brake failure Active 5. U1604 No CAN message from TPMS ECU received Active Autel VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC REPORT EDIT: 2 more weird ones I found Read codes Diagnostics time: 2021/11/18 15:17 Path: 430 (F131E) > Auto scan > Read codes > 1. U1607 NFR fault - B status NFR - set fail bit - ECU fault Missed 2. U160A NCD fault - B status NCD - set fail bit - ECU fault Missed Autel VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC REPORT You can ignore no.2 and 3 (B100A and B100B) as they were due to a faulty thermocouple, replaced that one and those are gone. Mainly concerned about the other ones.. Many thanks!
Yup. It happens when you do a autoscan once it gets to the ABS module. Its better just to go computer by computer manually. You'll notice once you go into the ABS, the dashboard will start flashing up all sorts of errors.
Let me clarify my response .. every code should be looked at but carefully explained away and then ignored Codes can come up for various reasons without being a real issue .. most of the times is voltage issue ( weak battery on start ) , or equipment that is not present ( like fog lights on a 2001 z06, or sat radio on a Bentley gt), and sometimes the condition exists but is really not an issue (rpm = 0 error on a 512tr, or b1005 on a f430... both when car is key on and engine not running or car not moving) Additionally , as you may know "missed" means it happened in the past ( once or alot of times ) but is not actually having the issue as you test - again - these are usually voltage issues First thing I would do would them .. take for a ride and rescan The one I would concentrate on is the TPMS one - it seems like that is real The jury is still out ( i am still looking ) on the b100c - that says active .. I have another friend who has the same and I am having him look at brake lights and contact points on bonnet .. maybe have someone look at the brake lights while you hit the pedal .. maybe since two of you are having the same issue ,, it may be a non issue Hopefully others can chime in on the b100c Thanks
Is it? That error is common when you don't actually have TPMS in the car. It wasn't standard on '05s. Does this car have that option? As I explained, the Autel tool does some weird stuff. I dont think most of these are low voltage. It prevents comms for a few seconds which makes a bunch of downstream computers freak out. They aren't real. If you don't do a autoscan, and avoid the ABS, you don't get them. As soon as you see it going through the system scan, you'll see the dash start reporting all sorts of errors (suspension, ASR, etc).
Yes I do have the option, I also have that TPMS button under the dash... It's in the original bill of sale too (which I have a very faded copy of, I just bought this car in Sept 2021).
If you press the mode button, do you cycle through time/temperature/the various tire pressures? If so, I think you're golden. What I'd recommend if you're getting a check engine light you're trying to diagnose: 1) Clear all the codes in the system 2) Drive till you are getting a check engine light again 3) *ONLY* pull codes from the left and right hand bank ECUs and lets investigate those. These are the only systems that will actually trigger the CEL. Codes from other computers will not be directly illuminating this. The B* errors I'm assuming are coming from the instrument computer? Those then are most likely due to the Autel problem I mentioned. In short, don't run auto scans! It's making a lot of noise for no reason.
I .assuming it did ..and as mentioned like the Z06 fog lights if it doesn't then ignore ..but Mario just replied..he has it ..so I think it may be an issue ..needs further investigation Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
Thanks a lot. I don't have a check engine light. I used to and I fixed it with the new thermocouple.. I was mainly concerned about the brake and tpms failure errors.. The mode button on that little clock, does not bring the various tire pressures on the dash... do I have to press the tpms button, or it should come up anyway? Is it possible that someone has disabled the tpms on this car? I do see an unplugged wire from the TPMS button, I was unable due to space constraints where it's stored to see where it came out of....
Hi All, I believe I get a light on the dash if a tire is low, but don’t think I have that TPMS ??? I don’t see anything on my original window sheet. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi I did. Someone disabled tpms on my car and I left it disabled .... I wanted it back on but could not be bothered to pay to do it and change all sensors etc...
