Hi, just took the car out this morning and it is making a clicking/thumping noise under the front hood. Narrowed it down to a solenoid under the access plate for the clutch fluid and A/C service. The solenoid sits just to the left of the A/C service ports.
Does anyone know what this solenoid is called/ does/ and since there are no dash lights on would it hurt to continue to drive it until I can replace it?
    Thank you,
    Scott.

Sorry, meant to say brake fluid, not clutch.

Hi Scott - did you ever find a resolution to this as my car is doing the same thing?

Any chance it is the hood release solenoid, rig a wire and light bulb to it and see if it flashes

    Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I found - after further searching - that the sound is coming from the windshield wiper motor (found next to master cylinder compartment). I’m not sure if there is a repair option or if the unit needs to be replaced. The wipers work as they should.

Another member on this forum had the same exact issue with the clicking and his resolved spontaneously - so no clear answer there.

I have disconnected power - both through shutoff switch in frunk as well as removing and reattaching wire to motor.

If anyone has any thoughts/suggestions please let me know.

I have an idea the relay/ timer for the windscreen wiper is up behind the glove box, next to the flasher unit. See if that is your problem

Might be worth fitting a second hand one to see if the problem with the wiper disappears. The wiper itself has waterproof seals and doesn't sound easy to change.

    Module P/N 180199 or 253060. Here's a cheap one, but it's in Australia

Here's a slightly blurry mini wiring diagram:

The system appears to be enabled by two voltages from the Instrument Cluster and, of course, by the steering column stalk switches.

Well guys - much like the other thread (where the original poster had the same problem coming from the wiper module) - it has spontaneously resolved itself. It is no longer making the noise and all wiper functions are working normally.

Thank you for all the thoughts and suggestions. I sincerely appreciate it.
