Hey Guys, Anybody using 20 inch Front Rims? Thinking of putting 20s instead of 19 Just wondering if you have issues with scraping fender, or rough ride because of the low profile tires. Any impact to suspension? Thanks for your input
Al, lots of guys run 20" wheels on the F430. Really comes down to how you want the car to sit. But you shouldn't see any rubbing issues with the right sized tires. I even lower a lot of them on 20's. Again, just depends how you want her to sit (low/tucked, on top of tire, etc)
I’m running 19” but car was lowered on H&R Springs and 15 spacers all around. I put 20” first, but ride was bit rough for me. No scraping with 20” either. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I like these a lot. But they are so similar to stock I cannot justify cost. HRE P47SC Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login . Photos courtesy of our sponsor, Wheels Boutique.
Mine has been lowered as well but with the stock springs. I scrape the front and rear all the time however. Image Unavailable, Please Login
20's are ok but make sure you have the proper offset and not just focus on tire size. With proper offset you can have thicker tires and not rub. Otherwise, you'll have to buy those thin tires which is ok but may not be your style. Offset is your friend with 20's
Exactly....with respect to the offsets. I have 20" x 10" HRE P47's on the front of my 430 Spider but the offsets are ET+33, which for this car, is slightly too inset especially since the wheels are 10" deep. I have CCB's and those look great with the grigio grey wheels. Essentially, I cannot lower my car by 1" (ideal for my vision of what looks good) because the tires rub the inner front vent grill of the wheel well when I have the tires turned all the way right or left. Lowering the car basically brings the inner wheel well closer to the tire so rubbing at the front, becomes an issue. I spoke with my mechanic and he indicated that if I had another 5-6mm of offset, it would clear the inside of the wheel well. There is no rubbing of the fender since the car is no longer lowered, and even when it was lowered about 1", the same set up did not rub the fenders. I've looked into the higher quality spacers since I could implement up to a 10mm spacer at the front, but really don't want to mess around with longer Ti bolts since I already use the Ferrari Ti bolts. As far as I understand, there are no major manufacturers of wheel, spacers who manufacture 5mm spacers since that is too thin.... In addition, I am cognisant of the fact that the front wheels may kick up more debris/rocks onto the side of my car, which would likely create small paint chips (lesson learned from installing 21" turbo wheels on my Cayenne S which does not have the extra wheel well trim pieces that extend out 5-10mm to protect from flying rocks). As for lower profile tires used for 20" wheels, I am fine with any increase in rigidity. I never liked the Bridgestone tires on my OEM 19" wheels as I found those harder than the MPSS currently on the 20" wheels. The 20" MPSS are a great riding tire....and feel smoother/softer than the old Bridgestones... Excuse the crappy photo...taken on my BB and right after the lift jack was removed, so the suspension was still sitting a bit high.... Image Unavailable, Please Login Cheers FN
I have 20's all the way around... 20x8.5 front and 20x10 rear... Been trying to get a spare set but been having issues with the mounting surface diameter of the wheel being too large to fit flush with my CCB rotors... Don't understand why the wheel manufacturer does not know the correct size. 20's all around. Stock ride height and rides just as comfortable as stock Image Unavailable, Please Login
Super clean setup Gil...love the calipers/shield/caps matching. Exactly how I would set a Nero F430 up.
i have 20" ADV1:s and lowerd, H&R springs all around. 12.5" Wide rims rear! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Image Unavailable, Please Login Thank you! I have a KWS lowering suspension kit I've yet to install, just there are lots of dips on Hawaii roads. I also happen to have your headers with the titanium blankets which I love. Added some yellow to the interior as well...
Image Unavailable, Please Login Thanks BocaF430 & John. These seats were the finishing touches this car needed. I didn't want to add yellow scud stripes, however with these seats, looking right through the windshield they pop. Speedracer800 supplied these seats and are a work of art.
Save yourself a bunch of money and buy mine I know they're not 20s but they sure beat OEM wheels and they are a hell of a lot cheaper than new wheels . https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/dpe-sl5-wheels-for-360-and-whatever-else-it-fits.579095/
I also have 20's all around - I am lowered on stock bolts - no rubbing issues whatsoever. Offset is key. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Honestly, it's been over 5 years and I've forgotten the sizes. I think they were 20x12.5 rear and 20x9.5 front with 325 rear and 235 front. Again, don't recall.
