    Hello,

I am in the process of refinishing some of my interior parts.
The center console switch panel (Part # 68092700) has a 12 Volt Socket - power supply (Part #215406), this is the one with the hinged plastic cap.
I would like to remove this power supply in order to properly prepare the switch plate, but I cannot determine how to get it out..
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Les

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong for the F430, but most cars that I've removed this on were all about the same. There are two schools of thought here. Both begin with removing the panel the lighter is in so start with that and make sure it's unplugged.

    1. The wrong way but often used is just to muscle it out. Using the palm of your hand push it up and out while trying to squeeze whatever clips you see holding it in on the backside. This works most of the time but things can break.
    2. The right way is to remove the center core first which allows the plastic prongs on the underside to press inwards allowing removal.

    Here's a quick video:

There is also a special tool that you can buy if you search (cigarette lighter socket removal tool) but as you can see from the video it is not always necessary.
