It all depends how lucky you are with catching a ship. If you just miss one 5 weeks or even a little longer should be about right. It could be as little as 3 1/2 or so if you're livin' right. You could also spring for air shipment if you're really eager...

My car was completed 7/11, arrived at dealer 8/15. You can have them air freighted, but it ain't cheap and our local dealer said that the incidence of damage is high on air freighted cars.

every car that i have ever bought it took an average of 5 weeks to get to me. my 430 coupe i flew in and cost me an additional $5800. i would say you will see your car in your driveway the first or second week of march. perfect timing for the spring.

I had mine flown in but it is expensive $7000 to the west coast. However assuming there are no delays you probably can have your car within 5-7 days of your built completion date.:) It's only money.:D

Your dealer is wrong -- cars come in with less damage when air freighted. Also, air freighted cars arrive with a detailed schematic of any "before" air transport damage -- sort of a road map to the factory flaws, if any, on the car. So by reviewing the schematic and doing your own due diligence -- you will know all there is to know about any potential cosmetic issues. You don't have to wait for your first self-wash and wax to find them and convince the dealer later that you didn't cause the problem. :)

Most of the F-car damage occurs at the factory and on the trucks from the factory to the docks -- then the car is handled by the freight forwarders/dock workers in Europe, next the dock workers in the US and finally by the US truckers. BTW, time to the West Coast, once the car is on the water, is currently running close to 6 weeks.

Man, $6 to $7k for air shipping -- a little impatient are we ?

I like the looking forward to something -- heck it's like being a kid waiting for Santa to come on Christmas... Each to their own I suppose -- but I'd rather spend that money on some extra options...
