Hello FC, Recently purchased my first F car, and omg I love it! She is exactly what I’ve always wanted, and driving her feels oh so good That being said...I didn’t do a ton of homework...and after reading this site I’m wondering if I got hosed 2007 F430 Spider F1 All original (I swapped wheels) All maintenance records Small re-end collision with stationary object on carfax 12k miles Tools, ****ty Becker radio (lol), cover etc all there. Scud badges, rosso cursa w/Nero RC stitch interior $114k - bad deal? Am I at the bottom of the depreciation curve? I figure I’ll sell her in a couple of years after tacking on another 10-15k miles...will it be a blood bath? As the former owner of a 430 Spider i can tell you the deal sounds good. The car looks great. Enjoy the hell out of it.
Lol you guys are the best!!! Frankly, it doesn’t matter...my son called me after getting the pics and said “dad, don’t you remember 10-12 years ago when we used to stare at Ferrari’s in magazines and dream of ‘one day’....omg you did it” Yup son...here she is I’m so excited I find myself suffering withdrawals during the day while I’m at the office. I stare out of my window and fantasize about the next time I’ll get to feel her beg me to push hard, go faster...she has so much to give it is really amazing. Appreciate the replies, if anyone dissagrees please chime in...really want to know if this is a vendor (the dealership) I should consider a long term relationship with. If they weren’t fair now they won’t be later!
Enjoy her! I have had my '07 for just over a year now and I still find myself suffering those withdrawals. This forum offers a ton of help and insights as you mature into your ownership. Recently I have been following whatheheck (Dan) posts for a lot of DIY items. You might get the bug to do some modifications.
Thank you, and thanks for having me! My gut tells me I’ll be a bit of a purest...I have a great deal of respect for my Italian heritage and frankly don’t think I’m clever enough to improve this remarkable machine....plus, I’m super not mechanically inclined lol That being said there is so much to read, and following others journeys through products, purchases etc has been a lot of fun. Hope I can learn enough to contribute one day.
Scott congratulations !!! Sounds fair to me !! You live in New Jersey ? If you do I have some cool places to take you too Mike 973-610-7111
Jersey born and raised, few stops in a few other states (FL, NC, MD, TX,CA) now AZ is home But thx for the offer...very cool thing to do!
Reasonable price it will go down the next 2 years. I think u can get 90k back out of it in 2 years tops 100. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I did not vote but think you did well. Racking up the miles will bring the value down, who would have guessed........lol. I am over 41,000 miles on my 355, it is in for a major engine out service and will most likely be a 5 figure bill before I get it back. And guess what, I never ever regret buying it, and hope I can put a ton of miles on it. I knew what I was getting into when I bought it. The pleasure, the fun, the endless smile I have driving it or ........just thinking about it has made it worth every penny. Drive and enjoy it in good health. Oh ...... If you catch yourself going into the garage and just staring at it this is normal The " I can't believe I have a Ferrari in MY garage" ........can go on for months
Told my wife tonight “honey, I need to buy something for my girl...a chair” she stared and blinked bewildered so I explained “so I can sit in the garage and stare at her longer” Lol Woooohooooo I own a Ferrari omg yeeeaaah me lol I mean really laughing out loud as I type Great reply, ty for sharing, it’s encouraging hearing thoughts like this!!!
I've bought cars with Carfax dings before. What I look for is regular too heavy mileage for a long period after the incident. Enjoy her, put lots of miles on her, and you will run any diminished value right off the odometer. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Yup, that's "normal" as well. Well at least to us "new " f car owners! Enjoy it, drive it, and don't worry about depreciation. It will be what it will be. (I just did 700 miles with 17 other Ferraris around Wales in the UK, and to be honest it was EPIC, money cant buy type of experience!!!)
That sounds amazing...really looking forward to finding a group of f car owners in my area to ride with!
I have to agree with A348W. I recently found a group and it is simply an amazing experience to drive with them. Usually 5-10 of us which include a 360 CS, Scuderia, 458, 488, and a few 430s. Aside from the visceral drive experience, the amount of thumbs up is surprising
I always tell people, if you are happy with your purchase then you got a good deal. Doesn't matter what you paid or what someone else's "better" deal was. If you are happy then drive it and enjoy it!
Yes you got taken! Taken by your desire to want an awesome car. Now you must suffer! You will suffer wanting to drive this car all the time. That's just pure torture. Enjoy it. I don't think you overpaid by one penny. Personally I like the original wheels but as long as you keep the originals, its not going to be a resale issue.
Ha, you are doing great, think of what that thing cost new! That is the Miami Vice car which is still plenty cool!
