I had about a 6 inch long scrape on the rear difusser. Car is lowered and prior owner probably reversed out of a driveway and caught the edge.

I sanded the area down & then taped it off. Tried a few different paints and this one ended up very good. The affected area is towards the back, so you could only see it before since the scrape was white (The paint was off and the fiberglass was showing).

Here are pics of the finished touch up and the pain I ended up using. This would work on the front cove as well since it is the same color as the rear difusser.

The can didn't have a color name on it, so I tried to take a close shot of the cap to show the color - It is a dark grey with a little bit of sparkle.

    Interesting. Good old RustOleum.

The cap suggests that it is glossy but the photo seems to show a good match which is maybe a satin-level finish.

Yes, it is not 100% perfect match. I tried several paints and couldn't get an absolute perfect match. For the size and placement of the touch up, this will work out great.

If it is just a small rock chip area, this would also work out great.

Now if you were painting a huge area, then there would be issues. :) Might be best in that type of case to just paint the whole thing.

Also, if anyone has found a perfect match, post it up! I searched extensively, but couldn't find it. I found where someone (Think it was Tarek) had posted the paint code PPG 248514, but couldn't find online where to order it.

Hey Jerry, I'm really surprised that Ferrari doesn't have a touch up paint for the coves. Has anybody ever pursued this to find out why? This seems to be an issue with a lot of cars and you would think it would be something they would want people to have access to. Not that you haven't found a solution (and it sounds like a good one) but it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. We all want to keep our cars looking as perfect as possible. It's crazy!

I agree. Going to ask the dealer next time I am there.

I searched a lot on F-Chat and could only find folks trying to find the same thing. Kind of annoying!

Just ask your local official Ferrari dealer/service department. They have been very helpful with providing me Ferrari PPG paint.

A GM truck my father bought many years ago came with a bottle of touch-up paint in the glove box. Nice touch, I thought.

Considering the price/caliber of our cars, it would be nice if they came with small bottles of body and trim touch-up paints. This way, if you need it you already have it.

Am I the only one that cant see the scrape on the left side? Maybe a cropped in image might help.

Thanks, thought that was some dirt or scrape on the floor. Thanks for taking the time for the write up. I just might need it one day.
