Trev has always been someone I think highly of. I don't know who you are.

It's never made sense to me to convert a 360, other than personal choice. There is no shortage of OEM 360 gated shifters.

I'm sure they have done their homework on this front. I think its going to become a more nuanced decision than purely on converted car price alone or even the desire to own a gated car. There are a number of factors which may inadvertently force F1 owners into Gated conversions whether they previously considered it or not. The biggest one could end up being the lack of available parts from the Ferrari main dealer network to keep them running. In order to continue to fix these old AMT systems we will need a supply of replacement parts, especially with age as they more frequently begin to fail - what does one do? Scrap the car or convert it? Even used parts are drying up fast, especially now the factory is no longer selling some of the most critical parts and they are fast approaching 25 years now too.

Furthermore I do not think they are focused entirely on just the niche of the Ferrari market, Lamborghini is within their sights too. I saw one being worked on when I was there, however I would selfishly like them to leverage their investment in all this capability back towards our Ferrari community and do exactly as you mention. Get parts out there that aren't being manufactured or to improve the quality of parts that commonly fail just like Hill does with great results. For example Ferrari used CNC billet parts for some of the 360 Challenge suspension, they did this as they are low volume (circa 100 units) so mass manufacturing wasn't a concern, but typically CNC can have much higher and tighter tolerances and are made from more pure metal 'less stresses' or hollows than with basic casting alone.

Excellent point. The only reason I converted my F430 (which I no longer own) to gated, was the fact that the F1 was unreliable in a car with 14,000 miles. When I looked at the costs between the two systems, a manual made more sense to me in the long term and I wasn't disappointed when I traded it in as I got top dollar for it. However, no one should expect a bump in value on a 360. The rarity of the manual is just not there.

I appreciate all the work you've done for the Ferrari owners over the decades Trev. I just wish you'd apply your abilities to the 458, LOL. That's the car I own now.

Ok the whole manual conversion arena is a minefield. I am sure the factory is not pleased and neither are owners of OEM manuals. Art/EAG had best intentions early on and but bit more than they could chew but as one of his early customers I really think he cares and he means well but demand got out of hand and it took him a little time to catch up and get professional advice, backing and management. The pandemic didn't help either and neither did political infighting within. Having myself had my patience tested by Art/EAG he eventually came through and thanks to his pioneering work (yes I know he wasn't the first) I have been enjoying an amazing experience in my converted F430 with one of the last oem hardware setups instead of having to chase after an F1 transmission Shaman in my area. Please cut the guy and EAG some slack, they have hired a new customer focused guy who is trying to improve the image and right the wrongs. America loves the underdog and second chances, can we cut the vitriol please? There are some issues that have to do with the original factory design and not every failure is a result of some shortcut or perceived mischief. Also seems to me the NewEAG guy is bending backwards to rehabilitate the image and fix any previous grievances. Let's all take a deep breath and be nice realizing there are many competing forces from within and without and at the end of the day, whether F1, manual oem or not, F430 or 360 each of these variations has its charm and quirks and let's all be grateful to be alive and able to enjoy their nuances, pleasures and pains...

The manuals are great but it turns out so are the f1's for different reasons and I will try to find another F1 to complement my converted manual someday...

Also my 2-year warranty from EAG is long expired and I am not a paid 'shill'... just cringing over some of the evil posts in here... let's keep a positive attitude, that's what I have loved about FChat, a lot of helpful advice and low a..hole density ...

On F1 AMT points, I am doing my absolute best right now to see if I can bring at least a kind of "SO-FAST 2.5" upgrade to community at reasonable costs. Already having worked on both the TCU and ECU side there are significant improvements that even the factory missed which can make the shifting much better in just software alone.

    Hey Everyone,

I wanted to give an update on my gearbox problem that I asked this amazing FerrariChat community to help me diagnose. Shout-out to Lorenzo for the suggestion about disconnecting the gearbox lines from the actuator. This was an easy way to diagnose where the problem was coming from.

I want to thank the FerrariChat community!! You guys are so smart and knowledgeable about these cars. I really appreciate you guys.

I also want to thank Art, the owner of EAG for personally jumping into this discussion and (TCOB) taking care of business. Excuses don’t pay the bills (my families motto). I bought this car from a dealer that installed this manual conversion kit. My father and I purchased this car in December 2022.

Art, in my opinion, had some growing pains because his business has grown so quickly. Art has tried to delegate communication to other people that have not done a good job for EAG. Art is again handling that himself and I am extremely happy and supportive of his customer service now!!

Art explained to me that the manual conversion kit has been upgraded over the years. Art diagnose my gearbox problem from a video that I sent to him. He asked us to send the gearbox to him and we did within a few days.

Art received our damaged shift gearbox, repaired the shift gearbox and returned the gearbox quickly to me within a week!! The EAG shift gearbox now feels better than when I bought the car.

I want to show you guys the reinstalled shift gearbox (new video) and I am a very satisfied EAG customer. Manmade products are going to have problems but what is important is how the company reacts to a customer’s problem. Art diagnosised / cared and fixed my problem quickly.

    Art is the man!!

Again, thank you to everyone on this forum who has help me in this thread and my previous ones. I appreciate it more than you know.

    Sincerely,
    beasters
