I track my car quite a bit and on some tracks (Laguna Seca) there is a db limit. The 430 isn't even close it's well over 100 db and limit is 92. I know this is sacriledge, but does anyone know if there are any after market parts I can use to dampen the sound and not sacrafice too much on performance?

    Cheers,

    Tford

Remove the rear grills, use wire to keep the exhaust valves close all the time. Easy mod, worth it for Laguna Seca, you will lose around 20-30Hp.

Appreciate the suggestion. For the others, wasn't talking about a permanent mod, just a quick fix for Laguna Seca--throttling down at Turn 5 blows.

I've seen/heard of a couple of exhaust mods by Laguna Seca die-hards.

    1) I saw one F40 which had "caps" of some sort over the ends of the exhaust tips. In other words, you couldn't actually see into the exhaust pipes from directly behind the car. They must have acted as a sound diverter.

    2) I also saw pictures (somewhere) of someone who put tips on the car that pointed away from the microphone, aiming the noise to the other (left, I think) side of the track.

I agree... throttling down really sux, but it's better than the black flag.
