Hi guys I am fairly new around these parts but would like some advice re my 2005 f430 spider. 15k miles on the clock.

I have the f1 box and whilst driving yesterday I noticed that sometimes, not every time that when I slowed down from say third into second gear or second into first, the car would jerk, shake or judder a bit after the gear engaged. The same happened sometimes when changing up from first to second or from second to third. Nothing noticeable at gear 4 5 or 6 or at higher speeds.

The car has NOT thus far dropped out of gear to N at all or found difficulty in engaging reverse and i have had no dash warnings/slow down messages. I think clutch wear was about 75% remaining at last read 1000 miles ago.

Can anyone give some advice before I take it to a local Ferrari garage?

    Thanks!

    Ollie (London)

May need new transmission fluid, especially if the one in the car has never been changed

Have you used the car over winter or has it been stored and this was your first use this year?

    Hi Mike

Thanks for the reply, ashamed to say it was first use of the car since about September last year. Does that have something to do with it in your view?

I experience the same thing sometimes in my 2006 430 with 7k miles. New clutch, all fluids supposedly changed by Ferrari prior to my purchase in November 2013.

When this happens, I back off the throttle and then reapply and it generally corrects itself.

I figured it was normal behavior due to some glitch in the transmission program, although it is not ideal. If you find the root cause and fix, please post.
