My mechanic told me that I have 12% left on my clutch. He adjusted my clutch to give it a little more life before replacing the clutch but in the meantime, he said to turn on the key ignition, wait for the check lights go off, pull both paddle together at the same time and press the brake all at the same time and hold it. The red F1 light will come on and beep for 3 seconds, then press the engine start button and away I go. He suggested to do this every time before I start the engine. What is really happening here??? He said its to reset the F1 transmission. Is this true! Anybody chime in on this! Thanks!

Great thanks for the advise. Just curious, what am I actually doing when I pull and paddles and step on the brakes? What's actually happening?

you'll know when the clutch is really shot when the transmission starts selecting neutral instead of the next gear to save itself from crashing any gears or stalling engine.
