    Dear Memebrs,

    I have a 2006 F1 430 Spider with approx 8,000 miles on the clock.

The day before Christmas I was driving the car, shifting and running perfectly. About 20 mins into the drive I'm approaching another traffic light, as I coast to a stop I flick into N as oppose to letting the F1 downshift automatically. When the lights went green I flick into 1st, depressed the accelerator and it totally stalled on me. After several attempts to start the engine up and engage 1st again I manage to set off only to have the stalling problem happen again at the very next traffic lights several miles down the road.

I managed to fire her up again this time adding extra revs in 1st in the hope it wouldn't die on me, this seemed to get me going again as the heart rate started to escalate. It happened again (3rd time in succession) stalling on me as I flicked it into 1st. Even when pressing the AUTO button on the centre console it also stalled in 1st at the lights.

As I was heading off on holidays the very next day I booked it into service at the local Ferrari dealership. 3 weeks later on the day it was due to be taken to the service centre, the car behaved normally, no stalling at any traffic lights. The mechanics had it for 2 days and drove the car when it the engine was hot and cold, their diagnostics failed to expose any problem.

The car did not display and warning signs on the dash nor did it make any audio warning sounds prior to the stalling incidents, just the normal beeping it does when you are in N and starting the car up.

Could this be a bad batch of fuel goiing through the system?

The car is under factory warranty and the problem has been logged with Italy in the event it surfaces again.

When I collected the car from service it drove home perfectly, no issues at lights.

any thoughts on the matter is greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks,

    JJ

Hello JJ and welcome to Ferrari Chat. :):)

8000 miles (12,874 km) after 5 yrs tells me the only issue is you have is to drive the car more often.:eek:

But seriously, those pesky problems are the worst. I would keep an eye on it and see what happens. :):)

They reckon they logged the issue with the factory in Italy? Lol lol lol. :p:p

Have fun mate and enjoy. :):)

    Cheers Pap,

Let me clarify, I'm the 3rd owner.

I'm keeping a close eye on things, tomorrow will be the second drive since I picked it up from FM-Syd.

Will follow the Italy log up with them too, like you I am slightly sceptical.

    Best,
