I have a 2005 F430 F1 and am in the process of selling my car. It has a clean car fax and has been expected by two (2) different professional 3rd parties who each spent several hours inspecting this car and found no evidence of damage/structural repair or paint work.

I sent my car to the Mannheim auto auction and the inspection came back that this car had paint thickness of 8 to 10 mills and they concluded that the car was in an accident.
Both the paint/ body and mechanical specialists who inspected my car strongly disagree...

have read on this forum that most F430's have a great range in paint thickness, between 4.5-7.5 although on some areas of some panels I have seen it goes as low as 3.5 and on some areas (such as the outside back edge of the trunks) it can range in the 8's.

Is it possible that the Ferrari factory could have delivered this car with a paint thickness of between 8 to 10 mills thick?

    Yes.

Their paint quality has *definitely* improved but it is still far from consistent or superior. I once PDId a TdF OTO whose front panel (below the hood and above the bumper) was barely covered with paint. Primer still clearly visible at the edges feathering to the center. A beautifully smooth layer of clear over it though.

Straight to Karosserie she went, but only because it was so plainly there.

They've been doing ishtty paint jobs since the late '20s. Pretty far down their list of priorities.
