Was messing around with the Battery master kill switch today because my battery was getting weak so I did not want it to die further while I am out of town for a few days.

However, after I pulled out the switch I closed the trunk into locked position.

That was the beginning of the horror.
I know that the flip button on the dashboard wouldn't work because the battery have disconnected.

I went on to find the emergency wire pulley under glove compartment (note: my car is RHD)
Much to my horror I found the wire to be already pulled instead of allowing me to pull further.
When I tried to pull whatever allowance left, all I can hear is unlatching sound coming from trunk but the trunk stay still.

    Can anybody save me?

Can you get someone to help you? If so maybe they can lightly push down or lift up on the hood while you are pulling the release cable to relieve some of the tension. Worth a try?

Vise grip does sound like a good idea! Will probably get somebody to help me lift up the bonnet slightly while trying to do so.

Is there any chance that the emergency latch is spoilt, given that it is emergency usage it should be lasting enough?

I believe that it is the same latch with a separate emergency cable attached in case the electrical system fails.

The easiest way is going to be to reconnect the battery. The kill switch simply removes the earth wire from the battery to the body. If you put a jump lead from the negative battery terminal to the body you will have enough power to actuate the solenoid.

There's a handy earth point behind the LHS seat (take off the carpet cover) - I would post a picture but am prevented from doing so.

Thanks for another handy tip. That will come in handy someday.
