I've had my eye on the RH pump ever since I bought the car last Oct. It appeared to have some oddity w the top, see below. Well it decided to start to leak last weekend. Fuel smell and thanks to Fchat I knew it was the pump.

No fireball on the drive home from cars-n-coffee on Saturday. Eurospares was like half price of other places ($285 new, who needs anyone's discount code at that price...) and it arrived in about a day and a half to CA (faster than an Amazon order!). Swapped in and still made my appointment today to get the airbag leather + speedo surround redone.

One of the easiest fixes yet on the F430. This wrench came free with my house water filter and turned out to be a perfect fit.

8mm bolts around the edges and easy replacement of o-ring+pump+collar. To remove the fuel line you rotate it to the right and then can press both white tabs inward. (one is hidden on the bottom)

Just did the driver side today. I would recommend to move the sound deadening material and clean around the pump. It takes a bit more maneuvering due to the sender and the extra hoses. I undid two hose brackets (10mm) to get better clearance from one of the hard hoses (behind) and one soft (front seen in pics).

Inside the tank is a spot to land the pump. I held the level sensor up when inserting and then made sure it was clear of the springs once inside.

I probably should have waited until the fuel was way low but today was overcast with a nice breeze. Car was parked outside so the fuel pressure was down overnight. Lots of fuel smells so not recommended inside a garage.

    Done.

No clue how someone without the nice panel and 8mm bolts does the swap. Having that part free up helped a ton on this side. Pump was 184 Euro

Please confirm this is a 430 Coupe?

Did you have to unstrap and lower the fuel tank to get the new pump in?

My fuel pumps will be a problem in the next few years and I want to know what to do.

Any plans to epoxy the recessed center part as a preemptive measure for future durability?

I had epoxied the passenger side when I bought the car (as I had noticed the chipped piece). It ended up failing about ten months later. I think the plastic just gets brittle. The new pump plastic appears a different compound and not sure epoxy would hurt/help. (different expansion coefficients)

Yes, 2005 Coupe. Since I have the removable panels I did not alter the fuel tanks in any way.

Looks like I could eat off your fuel tanks too. Super clean

Am I right that replacement of the passenger side pump on the coupe requires the tank to be moved on an ‘07?

Would be interested to know. From my understanding its best to loosen the tank straps to get the new pump in. This way you don't bend it. Its a tight fit and on an angle. Getting it out doesn't matter since its trash after.
