Hi all, I Have replaced the manifolds(headers) on my 430 spider with AP (=Fabspeed) manifolds which has removed OEM pre cat. Starting thinking about and looking at getting some test pipes and removing the main cats after had a 'slow down' cel one day in Germany last summer during a European rode trip. This was after a full day of high speed running on the Autobahn. Frankfurt main dealer Ferrari tech checked it over then and said no issues with the car, error was cat temp sensor and was likely to be faulty sensor. Not had limp mode since although have had a couple cat temp sensor errors. Currently got a Tubi back box so looking at some Tubi test pipes in addition. I know I will get a CEL, Just want to be sure this can be mapped out, has anyone gone for a full de cat?! some people seem to still have a CEL post re map? I'm not to bothered about getting a power map just want to be sure the fuelling is right and no CEL when fully de-catted! Anyone done this or got experience of it?! Will consider Capristo race cats but happy with it being loud and didn't want to spend the extra if possible Thanks
I am also having Fabspeed Headers and Straight pipes installed this summer, I'm assuming that would be a full decat as well? Currently only running a Capristo Race exhaust right now
If you don't want a CEL just go for hi-flow cats. I had straight pipes with no cats on my 360 and it kept throwing the cat inefficiency code. Didn't bother me I just kept clearing it. Engine tune is set by the upstream sensors so the CEL does not effect the running of the car. Trying to stop the CEL with straight pipes is hit and miss and in the case of a re-map, expensive.
Going with an ECU re-tune and a set of o2 sensor spacers will minimize the chance of getting a CEL with a set of test pipes on your F430. Let me know if I can help out!
